Does not include "feel at home" though which is a shame but as I'm not going abroad until next summer it did not really bother me

I'm with 3 sim only, can you elaborate the 45 minutes.

If I call them and ask for this deal they will tell me to do one.

Retention offers are circumstantial... no deal.
#4
can you add feel at home as an add on?
#5
This is no deal

Looks like a good deal but certainly not worth wasting 45mins of my time. I just told them to cancel and switched to giff gaff.

45 mins on phone discussing sim options. You will have to persevere on the phone and take them all the way to giving you a pack code before you can get the best deal. I quoted similar deals with ID mobile and said I was moving to them. I was initially offered this contract for £12. feel at home cannot be added as an add-on.

Whilst retention deals are customer-specific, I appreciate knowing what retention ofers are generally available so that I am more informed when negotiating my own retention. Thanks for the info.

I called 3 network to upgrade my SIMO and they can't do such deal, therefore next week I will be calling cancellation team, let see what they can offer.

terrible mistake as giff gaff is true sucks - O2 lowest priority networks, as in airport full 4G with all bars and no internet connectivity on their network!!!

List of true sucks networks, my list:
1) Vodafone
2) O2
3) Giff Gaff

i dont understand feel-at-home. It seems if you go for monthly, you have a choice of the two plans - one includes it, one doesnt.

if you have a 3-2-1 PAYG, you get it for free.

The 3-2-1 PAYG is a great deal for low usage users - doesnt expire. What confuses me is if you sign up for a rolling contract, you are *doubly* worse off (pay more, and dont get feel at home).

(Mobile marketing defies comprehension, other than confusion and possibility of paying 1x, 2x or 3x for the same product, depending how you approach purchasing)

I was offered the very same deal after requesting the PAC code, but it doesn't include the Feel at home to use data abroad and was also 12 month contract, so not ideal for me.

So far, its been fine. And as I'm on a monthly contract, I can switch anytime I want. The price is fine and most importantly I won't have to keep wasting time renegotiating with some stupid retention department every so often to try to save a couple of quid.

Not strictly true as for FAH via PAYG you need to convert credit to a time-limited add-on.

I wonder how true that is. I dont mistrust you - was recently in US and happily used my mobile (mostly internet) with little concern of overage charges. Mind you, my MB are frugal - but its difficult to tell what I was charged. Had a few texts and calls. So its possible I was over-paying. Mind you, got a shock when I looked at t-mobile - at 7.50 pounds per MB for international use.

Now - if all the mobile carriers made it much clearer as you used it. On three, the three-app lets you see how much you have left, so you can do the maths to work out how much that call, or that days usage is costing, but nothing which offers alarms like "you are being ripped off and rapidly!" kind of stuff.

No offence taken; I simply paraphrased 3s quotation of "...and if you’re on Pay As You Go you'll need to convert your Pay As You Go credit into an Add-on to get a unit allowance to fully enjoy Feel At Home." http://www.three.co.uk/Discover/Phones/Feel_At_Home

Your allowance is usable abroad at no extra cost. With 3-2-1 there is no allowance so you have to buy one - calls, texts, data or a mix of all 3. They start from £5 IIRC.

this is the deal they currently have on their website

Retention deals are completely based on your usage. If you're the sort of person who regularly spends over and above you're allowance, they'll give you all sorts of free stuff. If you're frugal, don't expect much.

These can't be deals because it's completely dependent on the user.
