First post so be nice etc. Not seen it posted either, so here goes!

I'm already with 3 and due for an upgrade on my current SIMO contract (exact same one but paid 1/2 price for 3 months then £17pm) Saw this on the Wuntu app and thought it was stonkingly good considering they've now upped the price to £19pm so you save £84 a year (£7 x 12)

Perfect for me as I use data a lot and hardly any minutes, plus they let you use up to 12GB for wifi hotspot. Never has problems with 3 customer service personally and their Feel At Home package is awesome (used my 12GB data in Italy on vacay last year for free!)

Only shame is no Quidco - they do £50 cashback for 3 but only for new customers on 12m SIMO with data >4GB and excluding special offers so I'm assuming it includes deals on Wuntu

You said 5 x 12 = 84, I think you meant 7 x 12?

Sounds like a good deal. Im in much the same position as you, just at end of contract on my SIM only deal, which was £15 for AYCE data. They have offered me the same for £22, but thats more than i really need or want to pay.

I phoned 3 to see what they could offer, but the best was 8GB for £13.

The only thing that worries me, is that somebody posted a deal like this about a week ago, which was for existing customers, but when you looked at the small print (or phoned them like I did), the offer was for existing customers who took out a new (additional to their existing) plan, so you end up with 2 plans.

If the deal is as you expect, and you are signing up to a new contract, how do you keep your existing number? because you cant port a number from the same supplier to a new contract.

I guess this is for an extra SIM only contract for existing three customers. That's fine but it's not clear if you can move to this mid contract or even after minimum contract and just keep one SIM only plan. I pay £12 for 4GB, Unlimited Mins, Advanced and like the look of this. My 12 month contract finishes mid March.

Similar question that parx asked.

Have the same contract but at 18 a month at the moment.

Would be amazing if I could simple move to this for 12 a month.

Seems like it may an 'additional sim' to the contract I already have :( - Can anyone clarify?

I'd give them a buzz, but in Thailand at the moment! (No feel at home out here!)

You could remain on the same contract and not bother changing?

Yeah, but as stated im now paying £22 per month for AYCE data, but I dont use massive amounts. 12GB and a saving of £9 per month would suit me much better.

Anybody attempted a call to 3 to confirm on this deal yet?

just got off phone to three, you have to take out a new contact, I already have 3, they wouldn't budge, fortunately I already have PAC code so thinking of getting free SIM somewhere & transfer number across then back, seems so stupid to have to do it that way.

Anyone know if you need to top up a SIM to transfer a number across?

I'm planning to cancel my current contract and transfer my number to this one as my contract was up last month anyway. It's annoying this deal isn't available as an upgrade but even after losing an extra month of my current plan (£17 for me) I still save £67 for the next 12 months

Did they say you can't port your current number to the new one? What plan are you on atm? My current contract is rolling (finished the 12 months January) so I'm planning to cancel it and transfer to the new one. Will let you know how it pans out once I've received the sim.

I did this once but on EE, did have to top up the minimum amount (£10 I think) before transferring over to the other SIMO plan I wanted.

You cant port your number from 3 to 3, so you will have to temporarily port to another provider first, then back to 3.

Just got off the phone to 3 customer support and there is no way they will let you upgrade or change to this contract. So as stated above, i will have to sign up to this new contract, cancel my existing contract with 3, get PAC, move (temporarily) to another provieder, then get PAC from them and port back to 3 on the new contract.

Seems ridiculous and the 3 rep I was talking to, couldnt apologise enough for how ridiculous it all is.

Thanks for clarifying guys. Will take out the new contract and faff around with the number. With the current contract 6 pound more expensive a month, it's a tiny price to pay to save 70 odd quid a year for the exact same offering!

Thanks for posting OP :)

Yes you can - I got my Three PAYG number transferred to my new Three contract sim in a Three shop, no bother.

Wow, that's insanely ridiculous. But very inconsistent if jaceyar got his number ported easily in store (see above) Might just take mine to my nearest 3 shop but once I've received my sim, will let you know how it goes

Could this be because you went PAYG to contract? When speaking to the 3 chap on the phone yesterday, he said I would have to go to another provider and then back.

This was also what my wife had to do at Christmas with Virgin, when she started a new contract. They wouldnt port her number from her old virgin contract to her new virgin contract.

Three offered me this deal, 12GB for £12 as a new customer (as far as contracts are concerned anyway) so myself and my partner will probably take it. However 200 minutes really isnt enough for me. I ring Republic of Ireland often, and I discovered that the PAYG sim to landline cost per minute is 2p. So my credit on the PAYG sim will be put to this use. Three offered me 2,000 Three to Three minutes each, which is standard on new contracts.

But EE has made an offer now which I am trying to compare. 4GEE 20GB shared between two sims, and unlimited calls and texts, EU roaming 500MB, Apple music for 6 months. £29.99 per month 12 month contract.

EE offers fast EU roaming data, and 20GB can be tethered, so those are directly comparable to Three.

200 minutes compared to the luxury of not needing to worry about exceeding my allowance.
Is Three as fast as EE 4GEE? Its not the max service but expected to get to 60MBps.

Hi Patricia, not sure the two deals are really comparable as it's dependent on what YOU want :-)

If 200 mins will be a struggle, then I'd lean towards EE. However, don't forget you can always call people via WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger now, using either Wifi or your data and not impacting your minutes.

Threes feel at home has been a god send to me personally, as I love not having to worry about data allowances for roaming in the various destinations it's available.

In terms of speed, this is variable on so many factors, so hard to say which is faster. Personal experience is that EE is a little faster than 3 in London and the Home Counties, based off comparisons with my better half.

Hope that helps in some way! :)
