Wish this would work on the Xbox One version.

I've never played Elite:Dangerous but wouldn't you frequently need to use the keyboard as well?

The most frequently used keys can be mapped to the (many) buttons on the HOTAS. I think its supposed to be used on a desk or table as an accompaniment to a keyboard. The 2 halves split so you can have the keyboard in between.

Voice Attack is a good companion to using a hotas - completely free yourself from M&K.

I have everything mapped to my T-Flight, I use the thumb buttons on the thruster as switches so I can use the same buttons for multiple functions. You can set macros when you are assigning buttons in Elites control setup. My layout is based on this:

Does the throttle pull back and stay where it is or does it return to original position?

Looks good for elite. Its a game I fancy picking up when all the promised features have been released. Till then, judging from the top liked reviews on meta critic, it still seems like a beta. And after wasting £30 of my hard earned as a kid on Battlecruiser 3000ad, I swore I'd never buy another unfinished game again.

The game has been fully featured since release last December. We've had three major updates and a further two due before November, all free. After which Horizons (planetary landings) will be released to add 1:1 scale explorable planets and moons to the game.

Anyone pre-ordering Horizons, gets the core game as well in December when it is released.

It's not spring loaded or motorised so it just stays in position wherever you leave it (like a real throttle would).

It's a great flight stick for the money, had mine for years and it has been faultless.

It says it is wired for PS3, does it still work with a PC or is it PS3 only?
Sorry, never owned a Playstation. :(

What do people who paid £40 for a game with no content get when it's released?

Might be a stupid question but does this work with a PC or is it PS3 only ?

Can it be flipped for lefties?

No, but Saitek (Mad Catz) have just announced that they're developing a RANGE of sticks for Star Citizen which will likely include a southpaw stick as one of the options is a dual-stick setup.

I have this hotas and it's fantastic for its price, but the one downside is that the cable between the two parts is quite short, too short to have the parts either side of a keyboard. I don't have it here right now but at a guess I would say the cable is about 9/10" in length.

I thinkt he DLC practices are alright. The game is massive and there is loads of things to do, they then add almost a full second game on top in 6 months time, not bad.

They didnt break the game and make your pay to have it work, like removing the Spartans from Rome Total War 2, the game is still fun and complete, even if I seem to loose every battle I fight.

The only expensive thing is custom paint jobs? Why can't I get just one for £0.70 or something? And in game? I am much more likely to spend that than £5.99 on their website.

I don't think it is entirely fair that for new players who preorder the horizons DLC pay £40 and that includes the core game yet players with the core game already only get a £10 discount on the DLC, making it £30.

SO you think charging £130 for what essentially is a season pass is alright?
#33
Where is the £130 coming from?

Elite is currently £30 on steam, it will go down even more nearer Christmas, when Horizons is coming out. £30 is for the next season of addons, including other things not just Horizon.

I will probably buy it at Christmas, I dont pre-order as I dont trust the industry not to release broken products, but I would be willing to spend £30 on a game I play a lot.

I brought all the DLC for Total War, when they were on sale, because I like and play those games a lot, I would not do the same for a COD game as they are throw away titles for me.

A game I play for maybe over a hundred hours is good value, I don't mind paying for DLC when I get that much game play out of it.

But as I said, I still won't buy Horizons until after it is released.

Haha, I played BC3000AD to the same point a dozen times before I gave up. Every time on the same mission the game broke. The scope of ambition was amazing, execution... not so much.

The season pass is £130 on the Elite website.

Nice Stick. It's a shame I bought a HOTAS about 6 months ago otherwise I would like this. Some German made thing called a Black Widow. These all in one HOTAS are great and much cheaper than buying a multi piece unit. I use mine for Elite, FSX, DCS World, XPlane X and X: Rebirth. You can get most of the important functions on the buttons and I only need the keyboard for a few functions

OOS :(. I will eventually find one at a decent price which is in stock.. honest.

Mine has arrived today. There was more cable wrapped around the inside of the throttle section base, fully extended the wire is around 22 inches long and will easily fit either side of my compact keyboard.
