George Lucas' first film is a Sci fi film set along the lines of George Orwell's "1984" - we're talking a futuristic world where mankind is controlled by drugs and computers (very similar to the later inferior film "Equilibrium" now that I think about it). It's good and full of all the film-making promise that led the bearded one to make Star Wars.

1+ ;-)
I thought it was OK when I saw it late at night as a kid, althought that was sometime ago.
Most George Lucas's films have at some point a reference to THX 1138.
It is a cult film apparently:?

I thought it was interesting to watch , but not a particularly entertaining movie.
If you are a bit of a cinema geek it's worth checking out , but if you just like Star Wars then this isn't the ideal film for you.

£3 is a decent price but I doubt I'll be buying it myself.
Well its in my top 7 all time favourite films for what its worth, although I prefer the VHS version that hadnt been fiddled with CGI wise like this DVD. Then again Lucas did that with the original Star Wars 3 films didntr he, and ruined them.

Anyway great film if you like things like Zardoz and Fahrenheit 451. If Independance Day or The Matrix is more your bag when it comes to SCi-fi then this aint for you.
not being funny here. but looking at the dvd picture, i thought it was a jade goody dvd.
