It's our red, furry friend Elmo like never before Elmo TMX
T.M.X. Elmo will tickle Britain's funny bone with three interactive tickle spots on his chin, tummy or toe.
When kids tickle Elmo he laughs, slaps his leg then falls down into a sitting position, rocking himself back up to standing while laughing.
Tickle him three times in a row for maximum laughter and play!!!
Includes 6 AA and 3 button cell batteries
Suitable from 18 months +

From what I saw today, I think you would have to be VERY lucky to pick up anything decent in the Boots sale, let alone one of these, so would advise you not to make a special journey.

Same with my little boy - it went straight back to Argos!!

My nephew is also frightened of it .. however the adults have never laughed so much. great toy but i agree about being lucky about finding it in boots.

I bought a tickle me ELMO, and two other sesame street dolls from amazon.com (not amazon.co.uk) for my neice as a birthday present (her family lives in the USA). It cost me <£20 for all three toys delivered to her USA address - obviously not applicable here.

We get screwed in the UK for everything !! Kids toys included !!

Oh, does anyone that owns one of these notice that he doesn't always stand backup after sitting down? He tries like three times and then gives up!

We got our boys the Tickle Me Cookie Monster and have found that if he's stopped managing to get back up again it usually means the batteries are going. Change the batteries and he's rolling around and jumping back up again no problem!

The Cookie Monster is a great toy and really stands up to having his limbs pushed and pulled around by rough little hands - looks like he'll last longer than the bouncy Tiggers we've had previously!

... yeah that is a slightly negative point - The batteries do need to be pretty full to get the TMXs to stand back up. I would probably recommend using rechargeables.
