Tilda Long Grain Rice (1kg) - 99p @ Home Bargains

The 500g bags are on offer in Tesco at the moment for around £1.50 so this is super, smashing, great!
Best before on them was December 2011. In the Newport store BTW.

Tilda Long Grain rice is grown in rich fertile soil and a climate that provides the perfect growing environment for Long Grain rice.
This versatile rice makes an excellent accompaniment to any savoury dish.

this is seriously cheap, in hoping this is not cooked rice but pre-cooked rice grains?

I normally buy 20kg unbranded basmati for £20ish from worldwide, but £1/kg is actually very cheap as this usually retails for about £2/kg and thats only if you buy it in 10/20kg bags, otherwise its much more in smaller packaging. Ok Hold up! is this actually Basmati Rice? or American Long Grain? because theres a huge difference! Basmati rice is the finest naturally fragranced rice money can buy... i see the rice debate coming up now

long grain is a pain to cook tho

Why is it? I've always used the 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water method, never gone wrong :-)
