Just a tip,for anyone that did'nt know, this might not work for everyone, but might for someone.

For anyone waiting to get delivery,my daughters was due for delivery tomorrow 18/10/2007,but it was still processing at warehouse,so she phoned to check, and they have a back log of orders at the moment and she won't get hers till next week he asked her if she wanted to cancel he'd give the points, but she said no she'd wait..then they still offered her 1000 points on her card straight away as compensation for waiting.......... so if your waiting,it might be worth getting on the phone and seeing what they'll give you for waiting.
They mentioned it to her,she did'nt ask them about points or anything.

I'm awaiting an order which I tried to cancel 9 hrs after ordering but was told the order had already gone to warehouse so couldn't be cancelled, still not despatched 3 days later so might give it a try - although I did get triple points when i ordered, maybe asking for a further 1000 may be cheeky?:whistling:

Boots give me 1000 pts for inconvience when I complained about a damaged item,I was told over phone not to bother returning it but just keep it and they refund anyway,I found that a bit odd, anyway a week later still no refund in Paypal so I called up.I was told I shouldn't been told to keep it,and for inconvience,I was given 1000 pts and collected it in machine next day.
Boots very good service, good deals on,good customer service, but the warehouse packers have no idea how to pack.

Another thumbs up for Boots customer services here. I recently returned a special needs item that wasn't suitable for my son. It was collected for free by courier, no probs, but no refund turned up. I sent two emails over a weekend, was phoned by c.s on Monday morning, who apologised for the delay in acknowledging receipt of the emails and the item and credited me 500 points.

Minutes later I received a second call from c.s, not realising the first had been made. This time they told me to keep the points I'd been credited for the returned purchase, which were over £19 worth, in addition to that first 500 points.

I said thank you very nicely, and didn't add that that was lucky as I'd spent them on a Perfect and Protect multibuy the day before:whistling:.

Thanks for the tip. Though, I can't help but wonder if it was just a nice person you spoke to. They might be able to give discretionary compensation out and you got lucky rather than it being a standard thing. A lot of places will wing a gift voucher or points your way if you call up for a moan. I got a £5 voucher from Amazon because I complained about an order they kept delaying, even though I didn't pay for it until it was dispatched.

My order was supposed to be here by Friday. It didnt arrive so I telephoned but I was the one who had to ask for points as compensation as it is being delivered to a work address and since we are off work next week it means we have to travel in to collect. I have been offered 1000 points which I am happy with as I did also get triple points from my order. Can I just ask if anyone has picked up the points that boots said they will give as compo? They will follow it through won't they?

Brilliant thread! My order of 3 Ted Baker mens smellies at the crazy price of £5.95 each was supposed to be delivered today (total £20.80 less Quidco), checked online and not even dispatched so rang Boots. Was VERY polite and explained I was a bit disappointed with their normally amazing CS as I have had no mail warning me that it had been delayed and I stayed in especially blah blah blah. With no prompting from me whatsoever, lovely CS lady had absolutely no hesitation in giving me 1,000 points on my card. Amazing CS, tbh. Effectively, this order now comes in at about £10 including P&P. Ted Baker fragrance for £3.33 each. Nice one. Heat and rep given.

My order arrived today, just one day late. Feel a bit guilty now, but I'm sure I will get over it :-D :whistling:

Tried this this evening on my last order that was £120 that I got £40 in advantage points that took longer than expected to arrive.

Spoke to a lovely female manager with a very sexy voice ( :w00t: ) and she refunded 10% back on to my credit card (already used a 10% code on order). :-D
