Isn't 1000 points only worth a tenner in tesco vouchers?

It is but if you convert them to deal vouchers its worth £40, chances are though that Tesco insurance will be more than £40 more expensive than other quotes you might get.

your right mate tesco car insurance is more expensive voted cold

Sorry, but voted cold. Why would you buy car insurance over the phone when you can get cashback (sometimes £100+) from numerous providers from quidco?

My tip is go to http://www.moneysupermarket.com/insurance/, enter your details and see who comes up with best quote, then go to quidco and purchase with cash back.

I'm also going to vote cold as it's close to self promotion - tesco employees should not be posting tesco deals.
#6
Doesn't the original post state quote only?

Come back on when you know how this site is run !!

"Self promotion" ??? what are you on about

"i shouldnt be posting deals" what are you on about ??
#8
not for me, i found tesco very expensive, but thanks for posting anyway
#9
I was with Tesco last year and they were very reasonable

"Self promotion" ??? what are you on about

Probably best discussed in another thread but I think seancampbell is referring to self-promo rules where we ban postings from people who are associated with a company. I generally look for personal benefit though - so if someone was a product buyer for Tesco, or in this case someone associated with insurance sales where they would benefit from more sales then yeah that would be self-promo... If it's a tip from someone in the know where they don't benefit then it's not self-promo

Why not?, they might have advance or inside knowledge of a good offer at Tesco's that non employees have no access to and I for one would like the possibility of the use of any such information.
Anyway I can't see any conflict of interest in this post.

Personally this is a cold deal for me as I have just renewed my insurance (via Yes) and it was £83 cheaper tha Tesco's and my Quidco has tracked.

What will happen then if i post a deal for say example a Xbox 360 which is coming out at the price of £200 brand new.

that would get deleted:?

If you stood to benefit personally then yeah. If not then it's a tip from the inside and it's all good. In any case though we do allow self-promo deals to be submitted through Contact Us where it's reviewed and a mod will post it if it's actually good.

Anyway - if this discussion is going to keep going I think we should post in Comments instead of in a deal thread.

No no, ill leave the this Tip open and we'll say nothing more on the matter

They must have got stung last month when you only needed to phone for a quote to get the points.

If you now have to take out the policy then they will need to sharpen their pencil.

Admin and mouseclick make a very good point.

Zero personal benefit to himself.

He is merely highlighting a possible benefit to the quotee without tesco or himself benefiting and if all employee's of large stores did things like this more often on HUKD i'd be appreciative.

What a strange and ignorant accusation.

The point I was making is if I posted a deal for a smaller company as an employee it'd be taken down - why should special rules apply for saxo & tesco? He's posted nothing but tesco deals inc mistakes reading the wrong price - your not telling me that didn't generate sales for tesco with people going along to check (plus the hundreds of degrees meaning his vote for other deals is worth more than it would be without the deal).
Surely he should just use the contact us like every other insider? It's not going to cause much if any delay & it gives HUKD back it's objectivity.

I kind of feel you have a grudge against me Sean ? why i dont know!

Yes the Tv was a mistake and i quickly said it was a mistake, i was told in the work that it was this price but were merely read it wrong...

Human error im afraid, i didnt think (you of all people) would pin me against it, and so what if i only post Tesco deals...is that a crime?
I dont and have never asked for special rules againts for myself and i dont ever expect it, and as for generating sales !
What are you on about ?? Tesco is one of the biggest companys in Britian, who hasnt heard of Tesco's, to self promote Tescos is way out of context... i dont need to promote them, they do a big enough job for themselves - just look at their new adverts comparing them to Sainsburys and Asda etc.

Im suddenly going off this site if things like this get said against me im afraid !
im quite angry that you feel this way Sean
