No, you need a FLIR thermometer for that, these will only tell you the temperature on the exact spot the laser hits. Unfortunately the FLIR kits even to rent cost a fortune.

Not for pets as you need to take their internal temperature internally... Via their bum!

Not really, too pinpoint. you really need an infra red camera such as a Test, others available of course. Hire one.

These thermometers can be used. The temperature changes markedly at the source of draughts. It's enlightening to see the difference at the bottom of doors for instance.

Yes, but the Black + Decker TLD100 Thermal Leak Detector is easier to use as it gives a red or blue beam to show above or below your median temperature

I wonder if anyone can help. Its sort of related.

I live in an old school house, attached to a converted church.

An old dear came past one day and said 'i loved that sunday school - we used to play in the cellar...'

How do i find the cellar using thermal technology? Willing to spend a few hundred £££'s trying to find the opening. Is it possible?

Next time you see the old lady, invite her in for a cuppa and ask her where the opening to the cellar was... Hundreds of £££ saved ;)
