altho u save £38.22 by building it urself i think its a cracking deal for those who dont know how to build a pc and save u time building one. voted hot. good start for a gaming pc considering it has a 4850! i would put xp 64 bit on it if i had this.

Still not a great deal, as parts are cheaper elsewhere, but still an OK deal. Wouldn't touch OCUK using you guys as a condom, but each to their own.

Blimey, you must have had a bad experience! This is the first desktop Ive bought from them as I normally build my own but ive never had any issues on items ordered and delivered (although Ive never had faulty gear from them).

Would have gave heat but mobo sucks, not a bad deal though so not voting

Just wait to you need to deal with their CS. The worst company I have ever, ever, ever dealt with.

The prospect of buying a PC from them would make me vomit.

Steer clear of OCUK, terrible aftersales,

Id prefer pay more elsewhere.

and did yesterday when i needed a 500GB HDD.

Overclockers? Poor customer service run by an appauling group of people.

I wouldn't give them the time of day nevermind my money.
#10
Judging by the adverse comments about the supplier...... I think I will steer clear of this on:)
#11
If things are OK, they are a great supplier. When things go wrong, they just tend not to give a ****. I used them on and off for a few years, being local, but after a particularily bad experience I stopped. Had a faulty CPU from them a few years ago, they insisted it was OK. Took it back twice, both times they kept it a week then said it was fine. On the third return I had a bit of an argument, and asked to see it running. They tried to refuse, then said I'd have to wait a further week. When I finally went in to see it the CPU was found to be faulty and replaced, funny that.

In all this probably cost me over £50, as I had to buy a replacement for the system I was building for someone and then didn't sell the new one on for a while. I will never use them again.
#12
Customer service being bad, you guys forget that there's a 1 year on-site collect and return warranty (worth £38?)

CS may not be great, but they will eventually have to help in some way.

terrible terrible after service .. go elsewhere IMO

Are they really that bad? They have their own message board and alot of people seem to be praising them over there. Has anyone actually had rough experiences they like to share?
#15
That's what I was thinking Renal. Although I'm sure it's moderated (for bad comments!), they do seem to be community driven.

There forum is like the gestapo lol

i have posted reviews too on there web site, 'Oh dont post a bad review, it never makes it to their site'

i bourght a 1TB Samsung hdd off OC, within a week it was crashing/freezing up my pc
i knew it was the hard drive as i am gened up on pc's,
i took the hard drive to OC, they "Test" it, and say nothings wrong with it (note they can charge upto £7 if nothing is wrong with a returned item)
So i take the Hdd to my local "One stop computers" shop, great friendly guys all super knowledgeable on pc's.
They put the HDD on test and within 5 mins say its faulty, and if i had bourght it off them, they would replace it straight away.
i return home with my knackered hard drive which cost me £60,

OCC just want the sale, thats all they are interested in, nothing more nothing less,
god help you if anything is faulty from OC.

After 2 sh*t experiences with them, I'll never ever deal with them again.

Voted cold.

They actively delete negative feedback and ban members who make it.

Agreed. Anything negative on their is deleted / modified by their moderators who call themselves "Dons" in reference to the Mafia. However, the comment of "Gestapo" is somewhat nearer the mark as some of their views would make Nick Griffin wince.

So you suggest he ****** his money up the wall and then appreciates OCUK are not a very good company at all, in my experience ?
#23
OcUK are the worst company that I've ever dealt with (when returning items). Took a lot of time and effort trying to get my money back and staff couldn't care less. And on that basis I'm voting cold, sorry nothing personal OP.

He has already bought the computer. I suggest he waits to see how his own experience turns out rather than listening to bitter people on here.
#25
OCUK is pretty bad in my experience, and also you can build a similar spec for a much cheaper price - building a PC honestly isn't that hard - tonnes of guides on the internet
#26
Yup I was a fan boy for several years until the Asus mobo I bought from them bricked after 6 hours... I returned it and they 'tested' it and couldn't find anything wrong with it. Charged me £8 for the pleasure, plus return delivery.

I never did get it to POST again..

I replaced with exact same £80 mobo from another supplier and my RAM/CPU/cards/HDD all worked fine..... yeah thanks OcUK...

sorry to vote cold but I 'd rather chew glass than buy from them again.

I just want to echo the comments above about Overclockers UK. They are truly one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I will never buy anything from them ever again. Their customer service is an absolute joke and god help you if anything is faulty. They will keep sending it back to you saying everything is okay until you give up or take legal action. They really just don't give a **** :x

Maybe the OP would be better off listening to people who don't work for OC.

I won't bore you with the details but I can pretty much confirm what others have said about OC after sales. Absolutely apalling! That is all.

£10 cheaper this week only

It took two weeks of chasing to get a £90+ PSU resent after the delivery company "delivered" the PSU (saying they left it outside my house.) Funnily enough, they didn't have a signature. The delivery driver said he saw be looking out of the window when he delivered it but that I didn't come to the door. Interesting that, seeing as how I'd have been in work. TWO WEEKS before it got sorted, even though they didn't have a leg to stand on.

My love and continued use of OcUK is completely irrational, you'll find that the loyalty they inspire from their customerbase is often at complete odds with the customer service they provide. I think my first proper kick-ass machine was built based on a guaranteed-to-over-clock Athlon, back in the day.

There are some plus sides, their pre-sales are extremely knowledgeable and sometimes, just sometimes, they really pull it out of the bag on the CS front. They also get some crazy deals on occasion.
