Nothing on earth can rival the epic spectacle and breathtaking grandeur of Titanic, the sweeping love story that sailed into the hearts of moviegoers around the world ultimately emerging as the most popular motion picture of all time.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Oscar nominee Kate Winslet light up the screen as Jack and Rose, the young lovers who find one another on the maiden voyage of the 'unsinkable' R.M.S. Titanic. But when the doomed luxury liner collides with an iceberg in the frigid North Atlantic, their passionate love affair becomes a thrilling race for survival.

From acclaimed filmmaker James Cameron comes a tale of forbidden love and courage in the face of disaster that triumphs as a true cinematic masterpiece.

:w00t: For all its overblown grandeur though, I still personally found it more entertaining than Avatar and its cheesy lines that seemed to be taken from the same breath as Camerons overblown "Aliens" film which at least could be partly excused in 1986

Mmm, okay, their description was a bit flowery, but don't you think, after all the effort they went to, to recreate Titanic in such detail, that they were allowed a little poetic licence? They did get some of the accents wrong mind you!

I already have a copy of this (doesn't everybody?) but, rather than hunt it out to watch it again, I have bought this copy.

Heat added.

I have a copy on VCR taped off the TV some years ago.... :-D

I believe that at one point the tape goes all fuzzy because my brother was running his model railway in the loft which interfered with it...

Ordered this!

Its easy to knock this film,Cool to knock it in fact. Sure they may have put too much emphasis on the love story but the climax of this film is one of the best dramatic action sequences ever. Any film that enters the world of parody and cliche is doomed to be ridiculed until a new generation experience it without any baggage.

One of the best films of all time - and I am not gay or a girl

As long as you are aware, this version of the film splits it across the 2 discs (similar experience as with the LOTR extended sets). If that doesn't put you off then go for it.
