As posted on Bitterwallet.com:

If you manage to grab a copy of The Guardian today (80p), you will find a voucher that entitles you to a free cuppa Starbucks exclusive red cup yuletide inspired coffee, worth £3.

The voucher that states that this offer is only valid for today. But a couple of phone calls to The Guardians Press Office this morning confirmed that this was actually a misprint.

Apparently the voucher will be honoured until 18/11/2008.

Moved to Deals as it's not really a Freebie due to 80p Guardian cost.

Do you have to buy the Gaurdian every day, or once for the voucher for the full 14 days?
#3
I think he means, if you buy a paper today you get a free coffee worth £3, you can use the voucher up until 18/11. I doubt you'll be able to use the voucher 14 times, unless you buy 14 papers! You'd be saving £2.20 a day if you did buy 14 papers though!

I went and got the dark cherry mocha, but the barrista ripped the voucher off my advert so I personally wont be able to get anymore.
This deal is also on mse's newsletter saying it's not just today, seems weird that mine got taken. :(

Oh and I only had to pay 35p so bought 5 copies for my friends and teacher... cost me £2 with 50p card charge :(
but still it's a bargain! :D

I think you need to buy one paper per coffee you want. As it's good for 14 days you could buy 14 papers today if you are that addicted to starbucks...
#8
one advert per copy, god do you expect 14 free coffees for 80p?!
#9
According to today's advert (which is different from previous times) you can only get it today and it must be a tall dark cherry mocca, tall gingerbread latte or tall toffee nut latte. I went to my local and the barista asked me which size so I went for the vente though. So I guess it will depend on your local Startbucks to see what you get.

Oooh yum! Thanks for the heads up. HOT :)

Altedrnately - go into a normal cafe - and many will charge 80p of less for a coffee.

Its coffee, it costs well under 10p to make.

Try to see through the hype/advertising!

Do all Starbucks have those drinks as standard? They all sound great but I'd hate to buy a paper that I don't really need only to see that we don't do those varieties.

Yeah but you will get a spoon full of cheap instant and some boiling water. Starbucks is soo much nicer

the date is wrong its only on offer today in the paper, MSE say they are will confirm that it can be used later but just checked and they have now added an additonal note

"Important: In some of the earlier weekly e-mails sent out, it said this voucher would be valid until Tuesday 18 November. That had been confirmed to us, in writing, by the Guardian. Sadly when the voucher appeared in papers this morning, the information it'd supplied was plain wrong. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. "

If you go here...

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/249980/carvery-3-49-all-day-mon-to-sat/

an Irish coffee is only £2,50 (or at least is at Milton, and GWR north west of Glasgow).

Boycott Starbucks!! I am not trying to tell anyone how to live, but there is a world wide water shortage. Over 1 BILLION people live without access to fresh water every day. Starbucks have been reported to be wasting 23 MILLION litres of water every DAY. - http://www.talkangling.co.uk/upload/non_fishing_chat/8564-time_boycott_starbucks.html - Personally I think it is a bloody disgrace. The only way to hit them is where it hurts, their pockets, as that is all they care about, your money at the expense of everything else.

This is because MSE (for once) is WRONG. Unlike our amazing Bitterwalleters...

Just updated on the post on Bitterwallet is a written confirmation from The Guardian:

UPDATE 17:57: We have received written confirmation from The Guardian Press Office that this offer is indeed valid until 18/11/08:

Just to let you know that we have had confirmation from Starbucks that the voucher for coffee in today’s Guardian, Wednesday 5 November, can be redeemed until the 18 November. (Apologies for the confusion which was due to an error in the small print of the advertising copy)

In the mean time, creep up to your nearest Guardian seller and start hogging the queues.

A bit cheeky of me but I managed to grab the last few copies just now from a local shop. The store keeper was a little amused, esp when I tried to haggle the price of the newspaper down... LOL!

Starbucks have been quoated to say they have stopped their taps running all day, and the second part about the soldiers is a hoax

Latte is made from milk, not hot water. Prob costs £1+ to make when you add on labour and shop costs.
