Are you ready for summer?

If you are visiting another region or country but do not have the map pre-installed on your TomTom device simply get an additional map and you're set to go. Go to Map Shop Please note that the "up to 30% discount" does not apply to maps for NAVIGATOR 6 and maps of New Zealand and Australia.

Roads change, maps change

On average, 15% of roads change every year. So over time maps become outdated. TomTom now offers brand new maps that incorporate the latest changes to the road network to ensure that you get the most out of your TomTom device.

Replace your old map

Important:

In order to successfully download a new map, make sure you accept the free upgrade to TomTom HOME (version 2.1 or higher) and update the software on your device when prompted;

These maps can only be used if you already own TomTom products;

If you want to download a map to your computer straightaway, TomTom recommends using a broadband Internet connection;

Depending on the map you purchase, additional memory (e.g. an empty SD card) might be needed.

I think you'll find its "up to 30% off", and as usual in the UK we get ripped off.

Still... 100% off if you know where to look.

...but still can never find anything 'recent' even on these 'discounted' sites . The estate I live on has been up for around 18 months now and I still cannot navigate 'home'. Although I have purchased the actual Tom Tom package and a complete upgrade some time ago. Would not be happy to purchase an offficial latest update only to find my estate is still not present. If I did, could I have grounds for a refund I wonder ?

You find the latest maps if you look carefully.

Having said that, even the latest maps aren't perfect.

When TomTom..

a) Sell maps at a sensible price, and on a yearly subscription format, and
b) actually get the maps upto date

I'll pay for them in full. TomTom themselves are totally to blame for piracy in my opinion.

Whenever Tomtom discount there maps it means that newer maps are just about to be released and they want to con as much money from the public as possible for the older versions first, before releasing the newer maps at full price a few weeks later..

They have done this for years....You have been warned..

I would mock you, but to be fair, it is advanced stuff, and obviously you can't goto tomtom if you screw it up.

However, it is virtually impossible to completely kill these things. Its easy to prevent it booting, or et it to say "no maps found" etc, but these can all be fixed

If you want me to fix your magicbeans, PM me and tell me what it does.

...twotellys and vibeone - nice one.
Have located said version - and lo and behold I can now find my way home after a night on the sauce (with old tommy tom tom in my pocket of course)...
