Great deal Andy, just had my ipod touch delivered today and just have enough cash left to buy one!!! cheers (treating myself this month!!)

Good price but I would suggest that you compare this with the XL which has a wider screen. You might conclude that the extra width is worth the extra £25.
#3
Might be worth adding that tomtom maps also have 25% off at the moment for those wishing to add further regions.

Good point. Where can you get the XL for £100?
#6
Whats the difference between this and the v4? Does this really have new easyport folding mount?
#7
if you are after the XL version dixons have the new version which has lane assist for 169, there is a 5% off voucher around and also 20 cash back so around 141

code is 5COMP, will also work on other tomtom versions

Just in case anyone interested you can get the XL refurbished by Tom Tom from Tier1 for £85 delivered. I got one and it is great, went for the free delivery and it arrived next day too.

Just a clariffication on this unit and the next models up...

The V4 are more slimline than this unit, and the mount on the unit uses twist suction to hold itself on the windscreen this one you have to push onto the windscreen and has more chance of loosing suction. The mount on the V4 also folds bk into the unit so it is more compact and easy to store away i.e. in a carry case.
The classic model (V3) has also older maps than the V4, and they have now brought out the Models known as the IQ Routes, which are much better in the terms that they have the most upto date maps, Lane guidance (especially useful on motorways), and IQ technology, which basically means they will know the best route to take to a destination based on the time of day, day of the week, time of the year...etc...etc, so you miss school run traffic etc)

Thanks for the description. The Adsa description "claims" that this one has an easyport mount.

Just bought this as a present for a friend, but after reading other comments I'm wondering if I should go for the refurbished XL from tier instead??

One other point, you can only collect from 6 Asda Direct stores in the whole country and as there was none near me I had to pay £4.50 for delivery, so the XL with free delivery will cost just £5 extra.

No the V3 definately doesnt have an easy port mount. (i work at halfords - runs for cover) i know it doesn't. Also on this older model(V3) if you lose GPS signal reception it will sumtimes take upto a minute or more to pick it up again (or reset unit). The newer models have Quick GPS fix, which mean this waiting time is reduced to like 20seconds!
The V4 and IQ Routes models have the easy port mount like this:

Does the XL have the quickfix and easy mount? I'm seriously considering canceling this and buy the refurb XL.

All TomTom models have quick GPS fix...I know because I even have it on my TomTom v1 Classic!

what's the difference between:

XL

and

Go 510
?

They seem to be both at roughly the same RRP
#16
The old style V3's didnt used to come with the GPS quick fix, when they boxed them up and rebranded them as Classic models they may have included it.

The Tomtom XL basically has a 4.3inch screen compared to the standard tomtom one 3.5inch screen, main difference between that and the tomtom 510 (which is a discontinued older model now) is that it includes bluetooth. So if you have a bluetooth compatable phone, you can pair it up, and use it as a handfree kit.

I recently bought one from Argos for £100. It was new and not refurburbished but it was a special offer. Amazon had previously offered the same model for a similar price, but I hesitated and they put the price up.

Mine's just arrived and it's not got the easy mount. It's got this instead which is actually much smaller than I expected so I'll keep it.
