£13 worth of crap, you learn something every day

I think the point here is that Marketing - through research - probably qualitative AND quantative - have determined that no fcuker spends anything close to £13 on a typical visit to Poundland.

In fact, given this offer's £3 saving on a £13 spend, they normally spend considerably less.

Probably typically no more than £3-5.

Ie the £3 discount makes sense if you can get a £4 spender up to £13 on Poundland tat on which I'm sure the margin is at least 40%.

Sounds very good - now would you like to back that up with any kind of evidence? No - I didn't think so.

Instead of going to Poundland perhaps you could spend the time posting a deal or two. No - didn't think so.

Buy the Sun - boycott Merseyside ;)

I would suggest to scousers that they should boycott Poundland until they agree to stop associating with The Sun, but they've got enough to worry about at the moment with JJB Sports going into administration...

Poundland sell smaller packaging and people aren't comparing like for like with other supermarkets.

Rubsico. Grow up. Another user to ignore.

Touched a nerve there, I am sorry. I will pop in to farmfoods on my way home from Work especially for you to see what bargains they have.

Even better than the £2 off £12 spend..

£13 of items for £10.40 (40p for The Sun which will be promptly recycled) which makes each item....

80p

Plenty of quality brands if you care to look and with a bonus of 20% off when you pick 13.

Justice yes, now actions on the people responsible, i know how much it bothers people ( reading the comments on here is enough ) that LFC where not to blame afterall, wont change a lot of peoples minds though, still plenty of blinkered idiots, and for peoople who say 'move on', if the justice campaign had 'moved on' lots of people would have got away with one of the biggest cover ups in British history, now go read your scummy lying paper and save yourself £3.;)

The sun is a dreadful newspaper, but this 'we can never buy a paper again because of 1 piece of slander God knows how many years ago, even though it turns out it was actually the police who lied and the Sun just relayed it and virtually no one working there at the time will still be there' is quite frankly pathetic. What is it with football fans and their over reaction to everything... (its incredibly embarrassing that we are one of the only countries in the world who need to segregate their fans to prevent violence, it's a game...)

Why do people buy the Sun? Do they like to be lied to? And did no one see the channel 4 expose on poundland? If you're the kind of person to do this deal YOU are the problem with this country. I bet you moan about benefits not being enough even though you buy a pack of fags each day to smoke in your free house with your many many children while the rest of us have to work to dig the country out of recession and wait until we're in our thirties before we can even contemplate having a family and supporting them. But if there were another war you'd be on the frontline with em isn't that right? Well it seems the conflicts in Iraq and Afganistan aren't covered by Candy's insightful page 3 comments. And if none of this applies, ask yourself, why am I still buying this embodiment of deceit and manipulation? You should know better.

Wow, @Poundland damage control... That documentary must have hurt sales quite a lot. Who spends over £10 in Poundland anyway?

I can't let this go.

Firstly if you lost a loved one in a tragic accident and a newspaper successfully perpotrated a huge slanderous lie would you not fight until they were proved to be wrong and public perception were changed? If you would give up then that truly is how you put it "pathetic".

Secondly, you say we are one of the only countries in the world to suffer from football violence. I don't know where to begin with this. You say the world, lets start with Europe alone. Italy for example has fierce problems with football violence and hooliganism, when the ultras have the power to force a team to remove their kit because they feel the players aren't worthy of the shirt then you have to start asking questions. What about Ukraine and Poland, did you miss all the coverage on racially provoked attacks in the stadiums before the Euros? Granted there are some bitter rivalries in Britain but there are also some extremely friendly ones for example the Merseyside derby where opposing fans often sit together.

I imagine you're the kind of person that changes channel when these sort of things come on so never actually gain any substantial knowledge on the issue yet feel compelled to voice your opinion that has little factual insight to back it up. See the problematic cycle here?

A little watched doc on channel 4 isn't going to damage the onward march and exponential growth of Poundland. Even those who saw it thought what a one sided affair it was.

These vouchers (the £2 one and the £3 one) are actually a kind of two fingers to the unholy alliance that hates Poundland from the corner shop owners to the supermarkets who hate the fact that every pound spent at Poundland is a pound less spent with them.

Another deal for scum who think its ok to hack the phones of murdered schoolchildren and slander innocent victims.

Beyond cold

What is The Sun?

Calm down people. It's a deal. If you don't like, don't use it (in fact don't open the thread).

The Hillsborough story is dreadful but something tells me that without it the scousers would simply find a different chip to wear on the shoulder.

There's only one reason not to buy The Sun: because it's a dreadful rag.

From Poundland I buy, colouring books that my daughter can waste, diet cokes (definitely cheaper than everywhere else except if there is BOGOF), Snickers, Toblerone packs (usually much cheaper), basic electrical for immediate need (like EU-UK power converter, HDMI cable) etc. Why to blame them for making smaller packs? Most case they are still cheaper, if not, don't buy, they do not have the obligation to sell cheaper, they have the obligation to sell for a pound. I still wouldn't buy Sun though :)

Also a deal for those who only participate in productive boycotts.

Call me when you've decided to boycott Poundland, I'll join you. Until then you expect me to not use these vouchers and hand more money over to Poundland? When they're associating themselves with The Sun? Pay a company that spends a lot of money advertising in The Sun £3 more just so I'm not giving 40p directly to The Sun? (or whatever's left over of that 40p after Newsagents and distributors have taken their cut)

Makes zero sense. Call for a Poundland boycott or shut up.
