It's all been said before, just a better price.

Can't remember if Ebuyer are on PCW's price match list & their site is down at the moment.

Thanks for the link. So they don't price-match ebuyer then. Never mind, it's still a great price.

They do sometimes, the list of companies they pricematch changes frequently
#9
Well...okay, but they're not on the list today.
#10
I would think this is due to the new tom toms coming out some time in april. Still a good price though.

I've been after one of these, but need to pick up today... Called PCWorld and they won't entertain price matching ebuyer :x

However, I saw today that Comet of all places are selling the 720 model for £169 which is good value http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/405388/TOM-TOM-GO-720/tab/accessories

Just called up Curry's to do a price beat on that (110% of the difference), so am picking it up later for just £165.20! They're also doing a half price deal on a TomTom case, for just £7.99.

This may be another option for people who want one now and can't wait for delivery.

I haven't got time to make a new deal of this, but if anyone else or a Mod has, please feel free to share this round.

Cheers

if this is anything like the 920, these things are really bad at playing music ! Beware!
#14
what's the 'music edition' - does it sing the directions at you???:?

It's meant for playing music via your iPod through your car radio on an FM frequency, not really for playing direct through the TomTom.

Damn paid 183 for this with the TMC reciever from amazon 3 weeks ago, can i do anything about that (i think i got a little discount for buying both).

Must admit teleatlas it is full of errors round my area, good job you can edit the maps via mapshare, why on earth other sat navs didn't have this in the first place i'll never know!

I got PC World to price match ebuyer instore last Saturday when the price was £159.97 (£199.99 instore) and very happy with the 520, even better at this price. Hot

The whole PCW price match thing does seem to be something of a lottery. I think I've posted elsewhere that the complete knob of a manager at Chelmsford refused a price match with Misco, even after I showed him that Misco was listed on their web site!

I agree. PCW says they couldn't load up the ebuyer website on their computer for some reason so couldn't match it but i loaded it up on my phone while i was there and showed them so they agreed to match

At my local store they claimed they knew nothing about the pricematch, then I pointed out the 20ft poster above the customer service desk and they had the cheek to say "Oh, I didn't notice that before..." Amazing...

That's classic. Maybe they had Clearasil in their eyes or something.

Hi, first post. Just a quick gripe. Does anyone know why the price on for this on the website has gone up? £141.75 not £139.99
#23
Yes its gone up to £141.75.

Why not get PCworld to price match the 720 from Comet, £154(need to use code 'GPS15'), add code on basket page.
Pcworld in store price for the 720 is £206.99, that will give you another £5.30(10%) off so £148.70 for the 720!!!!!

Not quite right I think, you can play music direct from the TomTom through your car radio if you tune both to the same frequency. The route instructions from the TomTom mute the music when they come through (unless you turn the voice off).
#25
They won't match prices with a promotional code applied, only the 'stated' price. I tried this at Curry's and Halfords too, but they were having none of it. In the end I got Curry's to price beat the Comet price of £169, so got it for £165.20 but I also managed to get a half price case for just £8.

Ebuyer adjust prices constantly, supposedly in accordance with stock levels & other suppliers prices. I've been watching this for around 3 weeks (when I missed it at around £144) & the price has been as high a £180+!

I tried to buy the Navigo that was £50 last week. Between hitting "checkout" & crossing the room to get my wallet, the price went up to £65!

great price

Yes, but this model is specifically designed to hook up to your iPod, so you can have 80GB of music at your disposal if you want it, rather than the much smaller amount the TomTom can handle. :)

Back down to £139.99 but now with a banner announcing "Save £1.76"!

I've expired the deal as the price is now £179.23. The 720 is £159.99.

Anyone wanting the 520 should just bookmark the page & check daily. They say they've got 345 in stock & with x30 series due soon, I think the price is going to have to come down again. This could just be a short term measure so that they can proclaim "Save £40!" when they reduce it again.
#31
Now £149.99 & they're selling like hot cakes. Stock is down to 344 now!

This has been all over the shop again over the last couple of days but seems to have stabilised at £139.98.
