Had one, took it back, got another took that back too. gone back to a Garmin, Far better. Plus this does not have the trafficmaster you have to go for the more expencive 't' version

This may be a good price for this model but what does this have over a £50 satnav that makes it worth 4 times the price? I'm not saying this does not make it a good deal and I have not voted cold just looking for some info/user experience.

If you are forking out two hundred quid you want one that deals with traffic.

NEUTRAL on this one.

Latest EU & USA maps, bigger screen, better UI & battery life, faster processing, proper speed camera daterbase, map updates, handsfree, and probably a dozen other things I forgot to mention.

Other than that nothing .

Like I said - 920T available from PC World for £200

Ok well mine only has UK maps so I can see why that would be good if you drive outside of the UK. I personally do not think I would get any benefit from a bigger screen but I guess it justifies some of the extra expense.

As for the map updates don't you need a subscription for that or do the updates come for free with the purchase price?

Does this have some kind of better speed camera detection? I would like that feature as I had to turn mine off as it was just beeping all the time even when there was no speed camera around.

Great price, especially when they're selling the 730 for £220 with just the European maps on!! I can't see why the 930T is another £120 more than the 930 if all it's got is traffic TMC, which I thought was rubbish.

AFAIK most satnavs aren't actively 'detecting' speed cameras at all, they just have a database of known sites they refer to as you travel along (hence the need to update).

I have a genuine radar & laser detector and I found it was going off all the time too, mostly in town....apparently a lot of automatic opening doors use a short range radar to operate & that's why.

I can't believe how expensive many satnavs are.

I was going to go for the little Navigo unit but wasn't that impressed with it, so I bought a Garmin Nuvi 610 for £85.
Very happy with it too.

Crucially (for me as a biker) it has a headphones/line out socket and the facility to connect an external aerial - and if I thought satnavs were generally expensive then the outrageous premium they slap on them when the word 'motorcycle' is applied has to be seen to be believed. £350 - £425 is unbelievable but not unusual.
WTF is that about?! Joining the case & screen with some silicon sealant and a little waterproofing in a slightly different design (if that) is not that expensive.

Tom Tom has a good name and I'm sure this is a good price for this model, but I think you can do better if you aren't choosey about having a current model
(the Tom Tom XL would have been my 2nd choice, but it was more expensive & didn't have the headphone/line out socket).

Is this an in-store thing? There is no mention of the 920 or 920T on their site?

BTW, buying this 930 for £199.99 is an excellent price for their high end model in this range, i am a regular TT price watcher as i am looking at a replacement for my 910 which i know will pack up eventually. And based on you also getting a latest map guarantee from TOMTOM the upgrades on maps for this product will cost you around £120 alone!
The Very latest maps being released this week!

To make it a 930T all you need to do is buy the TMC device which is currently on amazon for around £38, so basically you will have a 930T for £237 ish!! STILL A BARGAIN in my opinion.

Looks like my week old 730 will be going back to costcos as I've just ordered this one.
