If anyone knows of these being cheaper elsewhere I'd be interested. Seems about £420-£450 average (currys, amazon, play, dixons etc)

Top of the range Sat Nav...its not overly that much different to the TomTom 930. Some great features including local fuel price updates, local Google search through the TomTom etc.

It seems like it pretty much comes with this £50 Fuel rebate at most places, but Quidco are offering 3% cashback for BT Shop which makes this the cheapest I can find...and you need fuel anyway, so effectively makes this under £330 new

it's £391.26 minus £11.74 when buying through quidco (3% for non-BT branded goods) then your £50 fuel voucher.

If you dont have a quidco account I'd suggest setting one up, if you dont want to set one up this is the cheapest I have found it (£387.63 with £50 Fuel)

why is this getting voted cold? be good if people put a reason and didnt just vote....

if its because you dont like it, thats a personal perference, if someone knows of it being cheaper somewhere then let me know i'll remove the thread...

Its the cheapest available online that I can find so in my mind whether you like it or not, its a good deal

you cant trust quidco. some of my tracking are not paid. they just keep extending every month.

interested in the best deal on this tomtom as the mother in law wants one.....must be due to me telling her to get lost all the time :whistling:

seriously i am after 1

Way to early to expect any real deals on this sat nav, as it was just released last week and half the high street stores are still waiting on proper stock.

Keep your eyes on Cheap Sat Nav and TomTom Deals over the coming months and you might pick up a good deal. Personally I'd wait till the traditional TomTom Sale after Christmas

Seems a feck of a lot of money unless you are needing one for work and can get them to buy......maybe thats why ppl are voting cold??:-D
#8
lol this place sux....the idea is to list the best deals out there, whether its been out a year or a week doesnt matter, its the best current deal out there for this unit....when one better comes along list it.

And whether it costs a lot of money is irrelevant, I wouldn't expect anyone who couldn't afford it to be consumed with this fact.

And quidco tracks fine for me I use it daily and have done for over a year and never missed a track...

I think some new guidelines on what constitutes a hot and cold deal should be enforced, as for everyones cold votes they all seem unjust and a bit pathetic tbh...

At the end of the day if anyone is looking to buy this unit, this is the best deal I have found after searching around.

Have been waiting for this to come out! Thanks for posting this deal Dannyb2007 :)

I agree with your comments too, people seem to vote randomly on this forum. Just see the tag line and don't bother reading the comments... at a glance 400 quid for a sat nav does sound extreme but for those in the know this is a HOT price for a great device!

HEAT AND REP ADDED!

I voted cold because it's not a 'HOT' deal. Face it they've just been released so buying now your going to be paying top whack, wait a couple of months and the prices will be considerably cheaper.

That and you can get a tomtom 930 for around £100 less. That's alot of money just for the new live services which also cost an additional £7.99 a month. IMO it's not worth the price difference.

Finally you didn't post the true price of £391.26 + £5.99 P&P = £397.25.

So without quidco this simply isn't the best price available.

Theres 3 reasons for you why I voted this cold :)
#11
firstly, it doesnt matter whether you can get another model for less elsewhere...for this particular model, at this moment in time is the best deal if people are looking to buy the unit....its a matter of personal taste if you would rather buy the 930 for £100 less.

2 of your 3 issues totally contradict the entire point of the website, the whole idea is to buy an item at the cheapest you can currently get it and this is it!

You also didn't post the correct price, as its minus 3% Quidco as stated....there are hundreds of posts a day, many of them stating a "hot deal" if using Quidco that get voted HOT, this is no different...or to applying a voucher, when you apply maximum discounts available it makes this the cheapest available by almost £9 (Handtec also have delivery charges £6.95)

So there are a few reasons why this should be voted hot, and not cold just because you don't like it, or the unit has just come out and better deals "might" be coming along in the future.

Maybe i'll just go through HotUKDeals, voting everything cold because I don't like the item, or brand, or because in 1 months time another deal might come up and be better....

And then you go and look at the Coke Zone Thread that has been voted HOT to +2000....clearly not the cheapest way to get an iPod Touch...yet all the morons on here vote it HOT because its fun.

Like I say the website admin need to enforce what is constituted a HOT or COLD deal.

The best deal doesn't make it a 'HOT' deal. Just because an offer is pennies cheaper than another and is the current lowest available price for something your shelling out top whack for does not constitute a 'HOT' deal imo. Fact: early adopters always pay the most.

I can actually find at least 3 other stores with exactly the same price and others cheaper.
Example:
Dabs: same price/delivery/offer quidco included:

2 of your 3 issues totally contradict the entire point of the website, the whole idea is to buy an item at the cheapest you can currently get it and this is it!

The whole idea of this website is to find 'HOT' deals. Clearly what I and you constitute a HOT deal is completely different. This site would be a peice of **** IMO if everyone started posting every thing they could find for pennies cheaper than elsewhere or at the same prices as elsewhere when your paying top whack anyway. I visit and participate because I want bargains.

Dannyb2007;3429433

You also didn't post the correct price, as its minus 3% Quidco as stated....there are hundreds of posts a day, many of them stating a "hot deal" if using Quidco that get voted HOT, this is no different...or to applying a voucher, when you apply maximum discounts available it makes this the cheapest available by almost £9 (Handtec also have delivery charges £6.95)

I posted the actual price:

softpurple

Finally you didn't post the true price of £391.26 + £5.99 P&P = £397.25.
So without quidco this simply isn't the best price available.

Personally I prefer the full price before quidco along with a note that quidco is available or both prices stated. As somebody else has stated Quidco isn't 100% reliable and when possible some of us prefer to go into store making Quidco irellevent. But neither as far as I can tell were 'incorrect'.

Except for the fact you didn't include delivery charge which completly changes the price and savings you stated of £9. Not forgetting the fact if you just signed up for Quidco for this deal then they will take £5 of those savings too.

Making the final price: £390.51 and not the cheapest deal.

Handtec is not the cheapest deal either. Example:

Ebuyer £389.98 + Free Delivery option:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/151410

Theres a couple more sites I found selling for under £390 too.

Dannyb2007;3429433

So there are a few reasons why this should be voted hot, and not cold just because you don't like it, or the unit has just come out and better deals "might" be coming along in the future.

I havn't seen one reason it should be voted hot yet. Besides all the points I made it's not even the cheapest deal out there. It's a FACT that early adopters will pay top whack. That IMO is not a HOT deal. As stated allready I want bargains not prices found elsewhere or savings of pennies when paying the best part of £400

Dannyb2007;3429433

Maybe i'll just go through HotUKDeals, voting everything cold because I don't like the item, or brand, or because in 1 months time another deal might come up and be better....

OK? (I don't know what mods/admins would say about this).

Dannyb2007;3429433
And then you go and look at the Coke Zone Thread that has been voted HOT to +2000....clearly not the cheapest way to get an iPod Touch...yet all the morons on here vote it HOT because its fun.

Insulting people isn't going to do you any favours.

Dannyb2007;3429433

Like I say the website admin need to enforce what is constituted a HOT or COLD deal.

The users enforce what is constituted as a hot deal and in this instance my friend they have voted cold. Don't take it personally or get your knickers in a twist, it's no big deal (excuse the pun).

No hard feelings have a great day

I do have a quidco acount but prices are supposed to be quoted without quidco as it is not guaranteed.

Anyone know if the free fuel applies to all new TomTom GO X40s. I couldn't see anything on the box when I was in Dixons yesterday, unless there is a leaflet inside.

I'll start with this one then?

Waaah waah waah, my deal didn't get the heat it expected . You won't be the first person who thought something should be hot when everyone else thought it was cold and you won't be the last.

Although crying like a baby and insulting people will make sure it is more of a regular thing.

I keep seeing n00bies cryin' cos their deal isn't voted hott. "I won't post again blah blah wah wah".

Reminds me of that great line from West Side Story: "Things are tough all round kid, get used to it."

I've had deals voted hella cold - but I took it on the chin......LIKE A MAN.

Live 'n learn mon brave.

£371 now before quidco etc.
Still with the £50 of fuel (says enclosed, but Im sure that would make the box soggy!)
