Appreciate this is fast becoming one of the older TomTom models however at this price I'm sure it'll hold some appeal for anyone in the market for a good quality Sat Nav.

Picked up the last one from Pitsea store in Essex. No doubt it won't be nationwide but hopefully by sharing this it'll help someone out (which let us not forget is the point of this site, not whether EVERYONE can benefit it from it!)

Good luck. Pete

Nice price for a TomTom...:whistling:

nice find ta
#3
nice wanted one of these aswell

What's the difference between this and say a Tom Tom One apart from size?
#5
Is it UK only maps or incl Europe?
#6
Best comparison guide I could find was here

It doesn't actually include the Go 520 but it'd be safe to assume it's not a million miles away from the Go 510 which is included.

And it's only UK & ROI, not Europe.

I have a 520, it does do the slideshow thing (load your photos onto it), it has a built in FM transmitter so if you plug your ipod into it you can listen through your stereo without wires. It also has voice recognition, which is handy if your driving as you can input an address handsfree.
#8
Anybody else besides OP managed to get one? I tried my local biggest Tesco's and phoned 3 of the other largest Tesco's I know in Bristol none of which sell the GO520 :(

The Go xy0 range are significantly faster than the TT One, as a result the UI is much more responsive.

Pop into a Halfords to see them running side-by-side for a demonstration.

whys it expired. has anyone else found it?
#12
Dunno why its been expired, just because somebody couldn't get one i suppose :/

Anyway, none in stock in Millbrook, Southampton store :(

This is the exact model i wanted too, its a good bit of kit with bluetooth for hands free calling and nice and simple to use. One thing i wonder, the FM transmitter, will it transmit a phone conversation through your car speakers? Thats about the only thing else i would like it to do !

How please? I've got the 920 T, didn't know I could do that.

p.s. Tomtom have upto 40% off some of their maps and Free delivery on their accessories, but base price can be higher than other retailers (ends 3-08-09)

remember the 520 can be upgraded to that of a half-540 - with some features anyway.

This is an utter bargain - I've got 3 already though so best keep away!

According to that the 510 isn't touchscreen? :?

this site is useful to

shows which models have memory card slots (as opposed to internal only) then those that wish to run custom maps etc. can run them from the memory card and leave the internal memory untouched :whistling:

One feature I like on the 520 is the computer voice which says the road names ie "turn left into wood street"
I downloaded a hacked western eroupe map off the net and put it on a sd card it worked fine,

that comparison is not relevant the 520 has a lot of features that comparison sheet says the 510 hasn't ie mp3 player and text to speech

Anyone else manage to get one except the OP?
#21
Doubtful as per usual. I phoned Tesco CS and they couldn't even find it on the system.

Yet another 500 degree bargain. Except nobody can get one. Nice voting HUKD'ers.

So another 'HOT' deal where only one person has actually found one for that price.
Look out for the post - £1 Coin for nothing!!!!! 'Was walking down my street today and found a £1 coin on the floor. Its an instore deal only, best to phone first to check availability.' Should a deal be voted not just on the price but on the availability too?

chaps, sorry to hear people have had limited success in tracking this deal down at Tesco.
Without wishing to spark off what is already an age-old debate, I do think people get caught up in the whole voting/numbers side of Hotukdeals a little too much?

I can think of numerous 'deals of the century' which I wasn't able to benefit from, I was still grateful for the OP taking the time to share because by the law of averages I knew eventually I'd be in the right place at the right time. For the first time EVER, this happened yesterday and I was one of the lucky few to get an Epson SX600 printer for a quite ridiculous price.

When it hasn't worked out, I didn't feel particularly agrieved by the situation as quite apart from having to make a couple of phone calls / car journeys I'd lost nothing along the way.

This isn't a dig at anyone incidentally, we're all adults on here and I just wanted to say my bit. GL to anyone still looking and hopefully someone, somewhere will actually benefit (even if it does turn out to be just ONE other person)

Cheers Pete

very nicely put mate...i like that.
