TomTom GO 710 has the same easy-to-use navigation software, best routes, 3D map view and spoken instructions as the TomTom GO 910. Additionally it has hands-free functionality via Bluetooth-enabled phones and comes pre-installed with the most up-to-date door to door map of Western Europe stored on the memory card.

Nice find ray, thats a good price! :)

I heard that TomTom and other satnav manufacturers will be bringing out new maps in the next month or two. Is this correct, because if it is, it would be better to hang on for them. New maps cost around £100!

Has anyone else noticed that Tecno are the same company as Jessops but a lot cheaper?

I got some Nikon binoculars this week from Tecno for half the instore price of Jessops.

...and an even more surprising thing for me is that I have to occasionally work in that distribution centre for technical reasons. :w00t:

at this price isn't the garmin nuvii610T better value? It has more features and also comes with the addon for the TMC....?

what is the difference between tomtom 510 and 710 other than the fact that 710 has maps of western europe. Is it better in terms of performance?
#11
Can anyone tell me the difference between the 710 and the 910 (which i was in the market for at the right price )

thanks in advance

The 910 has a hard drive, 12GB free out of a 20GB drive and includes a remote control. A audio cable for portable players or ICE, a mp3 player and maps of Europe, USA and Canada. Plus it speaks out street names.
The 710 and 510 go figure......

We own this sweet device and already adding to the family of TomTom's in our household. :)

Okay, have done a bit of research on the Internet and it would seem the only difference between 710 and 510 is that 710 has more maps (western europe). The hardware seems to be the same. So unless you will need european maps, 510 would be better value for money.

I've just ordered a TOM TOM 710 from Dixons for £217.92 delivered. You need an Egg Credit Card to get that price though.
Go to Eggs cashback reward page and click through the Dixons 10% instant cash back link. The cash back will show as a credit on your account at the same time as the transaction appears.
Also use the the code 10APR07 Dixons £10 off a £250 spend.

Original price £252.13 minus £10 code = £242.13 minus Eggs 10% instant cashback of £24.21 = £217.92

Hope thats of use to someone.

Yeah I agree if you are wanting to use the GPS mainly in the UK and want a GO then the GO 510 is the better option. The difference in price is down to the maps and the larger sized SD card.
