That's a great deal, I paid a lot more for a slightly obsolete model not too long ago.

I have one of these, upgrading from a previous model, and I paid a bit more than this price, so voted hot.
I like it.

Phone works, FM sender works (volume is a bit low) , Mount is OK, web updates work ok too.
Internal memory leaves about 200mb of free space for mp3's - I need to get an SD card.

(Had a little play with it the other day, and the arrow you follow is a bmp file. So I changed it to R2D2 - which makes me laugh)

That's a great price.

I always compare the best satnav prices at GPS Sat Nav

Check here for the TomTom GO 720 and TomTom GO 720T - Traffic Version

god there are so many sat nav's, especially tom toms, i have no idea which is the right one to get; prices are always falling and products are being replaced...
#5
It was this price everywhere over Christmas - good to see it back again.
#6
taken the plunge! Did see a 710 in waitrose the other day, but seemed expensive for an older model, this should be good.
#7
I paid £268 for one of these back in November - its been excellent.

Bear in mind the fact that the only real difference between the 720 and the 520 is that the 720 comes with full European maps. So if you're not planning on driving in europe the 520 is a much better deal at £159.

bought on 'price match' for around £155 - still boxed however. Its not Traffic ?, Hot if you need one

Would anyone be able to tell me if this has a reset button on it? My current Garmin sat nav occassionally crashes and the only way you can turn it off / reset it, is to let the battery run dead, which obviously isn't good if you are in the middle of nowhere!!

Thanks,
Good price, voted HOT !

Can anyone tell me if this can be updated to Eastern European mapping? How would I do it and what sort of price would it be?

Thanks

Yes you can add other maps - currently 50% off - look at www.tomtom.com for exact prices.

As mentioned above the 720 comes with full european mapping. That's the only differnece between it and the cheaper 520.

When I go to the deal it states Western European mapping? I need one with Eastern Europe as well. Am I just reading it wrong?

As mentioned above the 720 comes with full european mapping. That's the only differnece between it and the cheaper 520.

The 720 comes with Western Europe (Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, GermaAndorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain (+ Canary Islands), Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City. ) And has 2gb on board, the 520 is only UK & Ireland and had 512Mb on board. Eastern europe is extra.

You have to download it (about £10) off the Tomtom website. Same for US/Canada etc.

Software is identical, you're only paying for the different features (bluetooth, handsfree calling, fm transmitter, screen size, more integral memory, wider map coverage, etc.) if you want the extra features and think it's worth it, then pay up....
