Full Euro Maps - Is that down to street level in Europe?

If it is - it looks like a fairly hot deal

Yeah....says so..

Featuring street level maps of the UK and Western Europe, you can navigate with ease to one of many Western European destinations with a simple tap of the screen.

However if this one is still available it would be hotter?

Just bought one for £114.99 inc p&p.
Voucher code 'find-satnav-deals' for free delivery works fine.
#9
I would be too scared to have old maps on that device (like on my Medion). It is a pain in the backside if the maps are out of date.
#10
I've updated mine to software version 8.3 and european map version 8.15 using the TomTom HOME system. Its now basically a 730 with IQ Routes and Advanced Lane Guidance.

You would never know it was refurbished, comes sealed in new packaging.
#11
Great deal and voucher worked fine. Ordered mine today and website says guarenteed delivery before Christmas so fingers crossed it arrives early next week.

£114.99 delivered.

H&R added.
#12
5% quidco as well
#13
Damn, missed that
#14
great just ordered mine, with free delivery and quidco.
Thanks

Is this easy to do? does it cost?
#16
You do it through the TomTom home software. There is an option to use the 'latest map guarentee' in one of the menus.

Look on the FAQ's on the TomTom website, it shows you how to do it.
#17
Do I have to update maps in 30 days or Can I wait till new maps become available and than connect this with tomtom home?(few months later)
#18
Can you edit the title to show price £110 delivered (with code and 4.99 Quidco)
#19
I believe you do need to update in the first 30 days although not sure how it would know this if you don't connect it to TomTom home straight away.

I believe once you're on the most up to date map you can subscribe to the quarterly update service for about £8 a quarter to keep your map up to date. Not too bad in my opinion as at least it spreads the costs.
#20
Got mine this morning.

Well pleased with it! Just updating it now.

Brilliant deal, thanks again.
#21
Bit of a pain to update but got there in the end.

Now running Navcore 8.3 and Maps 8.15

Loaded with features and hands free works brilliantly. Also amazed how quickly it gets a GPS lock.
#22
Just spotted this deal and bought for £115 using free delivery code (also Quidco).

Absolute bargain for a great unit which can be updated - heat added.

NOTE: Only a very few left according to the site...
[mod]#23
Nice again mate. Think I just made this hot.
#24
Total bargain, you would never know these are refurb'ed units. Fully boxed with all the accessories.

Absolutely great deal. Just sold me my old TomTom ONE for £72 on eBay so this was a steal for me.

Subscribed to the map update service too after the upgrade, £35.80 for 1 year and the next 4 major map releases. One point to note from an earlier post of mine, the quartely map update service is NOT payable in installments. I had to pay the £35.80 in one hit.
#25
Is it worth subscribing to the latest map updates straight away? Surely its worth waiting a few months as you already have the latest set of maps so you are paying for nothing in the short term....
#26
just to clarify - if you upgrade the maps you get IQ Routes? Is it a free upgrade to get IQ routes?

Bought one of these last week. Maps that come with it are nearly a year out of date now. Basically when you start using it through HOME (Tomtom software) you get 30 days to update for free. I would echo what the other posters said it looks as good as new with everything sealed- a great bargain!

Quite right, I would at least leave it until the Home program tells you your map is out of date.

you could also buy the traffic receiver from the link if they still do it for £9 and you will have a 720T at a bargain price
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/299697/tomtom-traffic-receiver-8-99-the-li/

or as others have said a 730T after you have done all the upgrades

yup, you get IQ routes and lane guidance for free but by upgrading the software you lose the ability to output the directions via your FM radio
#30
i have ordered one.
Waiting for it...
8 in stock now...
#31
I asked that same question on a TomTom forum, i.e. should I wait but the reply was that you may need to pay a surcharge on top of the £35.80 I don't think that applies if you're on the previous version but hey ho.

I'm still not convinced that I didn't do it too early but it's done now so will just wait and see.

v815.2003 maps came out in November so hopefully there'll be an update towards the end of Jan anyway.

To be honest, I'm not that bothered as I know I am covered for 12 months now regardless of how many updates they release.

Re: TMC traffic receiver, you really need to buy the latest model as the previous one was pretty flakey by all accounts. Personally I've used both TMC and the TomTom Traffic services and both are pretty **** IMO.

Re: IQ routes - this is part of Navcore 8.3 and the version 8 maps so you need both but there is no charge for IQ routes specifically, it's part of the software. Upgrade the software first and maps second.

these are terrible, i have had mine from totalpda for a few months now, and its cronk!!! the map is supposed to be latest guaranteed but isnt, and it keepsbreaking and all tomtom say is it needs loads of work doing to it, by me!!! they keep mailing to update the infernal thing, then something else breaks, so guess what? they tell me to try something else, then the hands free breaks and the list goes on.....................and on....................and on.

trust me the service is shocking!!! i would put stronger words but i keep getting told off hahaha
#33
If things keep breaking on it then you should ask for a refund or replacement.

took me a while how to work the Latest Map Guarantee.. you don't click on "update map" or whatever it says.. you click on "tools" at the top of the Home program and in there is a tool called "Latest Map Guarantee" hope that helps with at least one of your problems

Except there is no free delivery code available and no Quidco so over £10 more.

Surely the TomTom 520, delivered for £103.49, is better value (Quidco takes it down to £98.31). The Europe and rest of the world maps can be obtained elsewhere.

The 520 only has 1gb of flash memory which is why it has a smaller map coverage. the 720 has 2gb - also you can upgrade the software on the 720 up to 730 spec to give you IQ routes and advanced lane guidance.

Thanks for this. Ordered one and voted hot. If anyone is interested, you can sign up for speedcamera updates for a year here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/subscription.php at £16.99 and you get a voucher code for £10 off your order at Total PDA so it only costs you £6.99 for a years camera updates. Please be aware though, there is a certain amount of user-tinkering involved in getting the cameras on to the device I believe so it may no be for everyone (instructions are on the site).

EDIT: Just noticed that the Total PDA website only seems to allow the entry of one discount code so what I mention above is no better than using the free post code mentioned on page one.
