Just to add I understand this unit can work as bluetooth hands free with a mobile phone and also as an MP3 player using it's 20gb hard drive (about 12gb free I think)

The above is correct, I’m trying to find the music bundle for less land £300.00. Then I can link my Ipod as well

Great price for a superb piece of kit.

Just a point to bear in mind.. TomTom always update their product range in April/May, chances are this is going to be discontinued.

Does anyone know if the Tomtoms on sale now have the new maps that were released a couple of months ago? Or a voucher for an upgrade or something?

I have a 910, and to update all my maps would cost around 200 Euro. Which makes me wonder whether it would be better value to just get a second unit!

I had a 700 for quite a while and was never offered a free map upgrade.

I have never heard of free map upgrades.

These are going cheap because New Tomtom one XL just about to be released..Which basically will leave this on the shelf...

Larger screen than the old 910 better newer chipset than the Sirfstar III chipset..

These 910's never really hit the ground running with all the mount problems they suffered, and Bluetooth support for mobiles was a joke..And who in there right mind would want to listen to MP3's through this anyway...

These satnavs are good for one thing and one thing only....Being used as a Satnav device...:)

Funny you should say that, I remember a thread no so long ago where I said a new model was coming out soon and you said it wasn't.

Guys - just keep the thread on line - i've got a 910 Excellent bit of kit - the ipod link is OK - but cables, the phone link works but if you don;t plug the external mic in it can be in some cars/speed diffcult for the other person to hear you, but for a quick hello it's ok.

Re the maps and upgrade - as soons as it's out it's out of date - for the main roads etc - not much REALLY does change.... so chill on this one

IF you go to www.tomtom.com and input your map code it tells you if you need to upgrade (i.e. their sales pitch) most of the time it say' don't bother

in particular the 'news' of a new model in my last post dated 23/01/07 which you insisted wasn't happening. strange since you are a regular at pocketgps that you didn't know this. Guess the first part of your u/n suits! :giggle:
