thanks

Reserved the last one in local store. cheers

This is essentially a holder, which charges the iPhone and allows music playback. You have to purchase the TomTom software separately from the App Store...

Surely then, its better just getting a holder, and an FM Transmitter (which also works as a charger) from eBay/Amazon, for less than half this price!

I think it's also got a better GPS receiver in it.

Argos have 2 on their catalogue.

The one for £99 is 115grams.
The one for £39.99 is 99grams.

Any differences?

The 99 gram one is lighter? :op
#21
..... now all I need is an iPhone! :)
#22
can someone confirm whether the iphone4 will work with this with the phone's case on (its the snap case by incase)?
#23
The one for £99 is 115grams. = iphone 4 and 3
The one for £39.99 is 99grams. just 3

If you are after one but can't find any stock locally, you may wanna buy it from Argos ebay; at the same item price but extra postage.

You don't have to use the tomtom app with this, other software eg navigon will use the tomtom gps signal once it's paired with your phone.

Tempted but I'm not going to get this, for two reasons: it'd be silly of me to commit to buying something iPhone specific when my contract is due to expire in July (and I might upgrade to a non-iPhone device for a change). Also, the cost is a problem. I can't really justify paying for improved GPS, when the GPS in my 3GS works just fine for navigation... Plus I'd have to buy the TomTom app (£39.99).

I'd be creating a problem that didn't exist.

Phew, think I persuaded myself not to. ;)

managed to reserve one at norwich riverside, but dont think im gonna get it, so if anyone wants the reservation code let me know and i will send it your way
#28
Ok just reserved one, and dont really know why, Taunton if anybody wants it. Reserve on thread I will PM you res no.
#29
Really don't see the point of this. I use TomTom on iPhone 4 almost every week without any problems whatsoever. Cradles that support your case as well can be found for far cheaper. Good deal I suppose.

Exactly

DO NOT BUY - You dont need this at all i travel the uk using a £3 cradle from ebay on the iphone4 and tomtom works perfectly fine!
#31
looks like this is an old version with occasional signal drop-outs. but definitely a good price deal.

the £99 one is newer, improved for good reception.

Iphone got one inbuilt anyway, so bargain

could you PM me res code please!
my parents live there and could ask them to pick it up for me, none around me :(
#34
dont see the point of this if you have an iphone 4 or 3gs infact. In built gps has great signal ... a cheaper dock will suffice
#35
All gone on Ebay as well...damn damn damn
#36
BTW you don't need the tomtom app, you could just get a free navigation app just search Navfree UK & ROI, worked very well for me
#37
Lol I can't see why people are buying this if it came with the software it would be good but it's just a overpriced plastic dock with un needed addons. You can drive in central London and the inbuilt gps works fine....
