Will the 2% cashback work through Quidco?

Very good deal. Looking for this myself after I discovered my Navman Pin570 loses the TomTom 6 I installed once the battery runs flat. So I will be selling that unit and buying one of these.

The ebuyer Tom Tom One Version 2 deal is very close to this (quickfind code: 116142). It's £134.99 with free delivery on super saver with google checkout. Is the Empire Direct deal version two? (site not loading at time of writing)

Superb deal for the very best Satnav on the market at the moment....Voted Hot hot hot...and rep left Edi.... :) :w00t:

does this come with teleatlas or navteq mapping?

Not cheaper, but another option; at Comet's the Tom Tom One with a free case(normal price £20.00) comes in at £149.99, and you can do it on reserve and collect.

if i want one for europe and us etc is this one no good or can i get the maps as extras sorry i am clueless on these .

yeah you can get the maps for europe around £100 last time I checked.
I dont know if Tom tom have sorted the problem of crossing borders though, they state 'door to door' across europe, which is wrong, as you can only navigate main roads and towns across borders and have to switch map and re program when you arrive at the border.

TomTom GO 910 comes with maps of Europe, US and Canada.

The TomTom ONE UK is a great bit of kit for navigating around the UK, no silly pointless features just a fast and to my experience accurate GPS. Good price!

Scorchio!

Even cheaper than Dixons Tax Free.
#13
yes but does this come with teleatlas or navteq mapping!!!
#14
Good grief man, just use google!

two words, 1st result states that TomTom is TeleAtlas.

Is there a difference between this and Tomtom Navigator 6?

I'm running navigtor 6 on my SPV but not sure wheter it is worth getting this as a back or another spv.

Nope is pretty much the same software

Think it was the use of the second word that confused gingaman1 :whistling:

If you have the Europe map installed it is seamless, you don't switch maps or mess about at borders...

If you want Europe access you shouldn't be looking at the UK and Ireland Tomtom one unit anyway, you should be looking at the Tomtom one Europe version for around £40 more saves you shelling out another hundred for a euro map then... Doh..

also its noteworthy to say that the tom tom one has the most differerent launguage options on it that i've seen on any satvav yet. (l get a lot of polish people in looking for satnavs and tom tom is the only one that does polish)
also for the guy saying about the pin570, i've got one too, its a real nuisance that it resets its self whenever its out of battery but as for the tomtom software on it, l had nothing but trouble with it and even when it occasionally worked on it, it regularly froze up as l was going so l just stuck with the smartST mapping.

The sony one has a Polish voice.

The Sony one may have a polish voice but it is really a very poor machine in comparison...

I just bought one of these after pondering for quite a while as to which GPS I should go for.
This was as a result of all your positive coments regarding the Tom Tom One - so thanks for that.:whistling: :

Im not looking, thats why I asked if they have fixed it, I have the original 'GO' model with western maps of europe, and it isnt seamless, unless theres been an update in the last 6 months or so?
Good point about going for the euro model, when I first bought mine the UK market only had the Uk version with major roads, and the european market model was no good in the UK  Well done Tom Tom youre getting there :whistling:

Price aside, which satnav is genuinely considered to be the best for Europe and the UK. I don't need any flashy features, just a good reliable unit that will get me where I want to go (preferably using postcodes or the European equivalent). Thanks

When you say the original go are you reffereing to the Classic model which is about 5 years old now...A hell of a lot has changed since the original go was introduced, including map data...

Glad to see your classic is still being used and going strong, testimony to Tomtom build quality...

The Tomtom is considered the best out there as its really easy to use and easy to add poi's and speed camera files to the unit...

Garmin also do a decent range of satnavs but are slightly harder to use for the uninitiated and beginners amongst us...The file system is different from the Tomtom for adding poi's and cams which make it slightly more difficult for the average person out there...But they will get you to your destination just as easily as the Tomtom units will...

Thanks. When you look at the reviews on Amazon the TomTom ones get 5 stars from some and 1 star from others, whilst the Garmin ones seem consistent at about 4 stars. Only a small sample, I know, but that would indicate that, on the whole, the Garmin ones might be better.........

If you want to blame anyone for getting lost using any sat nav
blame these 2
looks like a good job to me

Hello, just signed up but have been viewing this forum for a while along with MSE and bargainspy. Another option to the Tomtom ONE if you want Europe is the new Garmin NUVI 250 which you can get for £159 from ebuyer with google checkout. The advantages of this unit are that it comes with more european countries than the tomtom one europe, is smaller(same screen size) so it fits in your pocket and it uses Navteq maps which many people consider are better than Teleatlas which tomtom use. The only disadvantage is that you can't use it with your phone to get the 'plus' services offered by tomtom like traffic and weather.
