Wow! Great price, even cheaper than the Halfords sale after Christmas.

Saw one of these puppies used recently while trying to find a friends new house. Worked amazingly well considering he lived on a private road!

Thanks Rayman.

TomTom Europe £175.92 @ Amazon (£15 cheaper than most other outlets)

UPDATE
Most other stores are out of stock The Link, Tecno, Dixons so looks like the next cheapest alternative for the Europe Model is £209 (saving of £33)
#11
If you can't stretch to this amount, a poster on MSE who is a store manager at Tesco has stated that the Medion PNA210 satnav which uses the SIRF Star III chipset!) is being knocked out at £59.99 at larger Tescos from this morning. £99.99 just about everywhere else online/high street.

European Map Deal not available from Amazon...i Checked

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

We regret that it is not possible to extend this offer past the
expiration date. In fact the "TomTom Map of Western Europe " is not
available directly from Amazon.co.uk anymore. We would not be able
to actually fulfill this order as before.

However, there may be similar offers in the future that you may be
able to take advantage of.

Thank you for shopping at Amazon.co.uk.

Here's a decent review of the One complete with warnings about it's shortcomings (but then it is the entry level)

Is the European TTone (£176) worth getting.. or is there another way to get the maps?

The difference in price between the UK & European model is £34.14 (on Amazon). Most other retailers have a price difference of £45 between models

The maps retail for around £60/£90. I have seen them on eBay for £35 Inc postage although not sure if this would be a genuine product.

The European maps will only be necessary if you need to drive in Europe otherwise just stick with the Tom Tom GB/Regional at a bargain £141.78

Hope this helps

Is this the Version 2 or the olde one? Thanks.
#23
V2, the picture shows it.

Good deal mate, if only this deal came about last week, as my friend bought one for £165 but he seemed pleased to have bought it at that price anyway.

Voted the deal hot :)

I have one of the earlier TomTom 510's - highly recommended, best thing I ever bought.

Planning on going to the U.S. soon, can i get the sd card with USA maps on, and will it work o.k over there?
I presume i will have to reset a home point on it, but otherwise i think it would be fine.
Can i buy a USA map from anywhere on sd card for the V2 version?
Many Thanks in anticipation of your assistance.

I paid 168 via a Currys' dal back in October last year so look s like it's a falling price. One thing I would like to mention is that I hope you don't get a faulty unit as the Tom tom site is not very recipient to complaints and it's a pain to navigate the complaints procedure. They seem to want you to solve any problems by software solutions and the good old 'have you charged it for 2 hours and reset it?' .TomTom shirk their responsibility when it comes to problems with thier product and you will find yourself spending a lot of time trying to repair their faulty merchandise. This all under a statutory one years manufacturers warranty.:-(
