am looking for a sat nav - would you recommend it???

:)

Its not so much the hardware with satnavs as the software they run. Most of the satnavs are made in the far east,so i bought a cheap satnav with a sd card and got my own software its works

isn't that illegal, its like saying ive got an iPhone but i download my own apps via cydia/installous .
lol, thats the cheap way round it, its not as stable as the original tomtom or satnavs on the market:giggle:

I would recommend this sat nav to anyone - bought one for £100ish about a year or so ago now, and it's been so reliable, never gone wrong or taken me the wrong way (touches wood!)
Fantastic Price for this too! Hot

It would only be illegal if you procured the software illegally. I have an old i-Mate PDA which I got years ago and it came with a GPS receiver but no sat nav software so I bought TomTom on an SD card and installed it and I've since bought updated maps. Quick and easy, and definitely not illegal.

Excuse me for being ignorant here, but Makro are a wholesaler and as such pretty much everything they sell should be a "Hot" deal if every Tom, Dick or Harry could access them. This Tom Tom retails at about £100 which is only a 30% markup for a retailer, a good mark-up but not particularly hot.

Sorry gonna vote this cold.
#12
If successful in the application do you have to pay a subscription, and because they are wholesalers do you have to make a minimum order qty? Also do they sell online?

Basically you`re voting cold because it`s a good price. Well that makes a lot of sense!

no you dont have to pay subscription, all you have to to do is follow the steps above and complete the required documents and hand it in to makro, they are not online, anyone who is in Leicester i could do you a favor and could get you a makro card without any hassle, i wont be doing many only 1 or 2. lol:thumbsup:

So the documentation has to be handed in at the store then, can't email copies? What about minimum order qty? Cheers.

Because wholesalers like Makro and Costco are not bound by retail trading laws - check the opening hours on Sunday, for instance or the Sale of Goods Act. The payoff is that they cannot trade with the general public.

This deal is all the more remarkable because as any Makro cardholder will know, pretty much all then non-food stock sold is dearer than the high street.

Makro are a wholesaler, as we all know full well, Just because you only want to buy one doesn't change that fact.

Wow, what a friendly bunch you are, I'm an idiot and a troll because I don't think that Wholesalers selling at Wholesale prices is that great (note earlier post of Asda selling them at £80, anybody can buy them from Asda and so that would be Hot.

Exactly my point for voting cold. But guess I wont express an opinion again because to do so invites insult.

I bet those insulting me are probably the same people on other threads demanding proof of purchase

Well a few people obviously gave a dam enough to throw insults. Thought I would justify why I voted cold, surely thats why they have these little discussion boxes.

Anyway, will be the last time, in future I will leave the children to play and not participate. I'm not mad, I just think it's a pity as websites like this rely on the freedom and participation from everybody, obviously that's not something that's encouraged.

lol. Sorry but I don't see post counts as "more experienced", a high post count might just indicate something else. Stand by my children comment. ;-)
