I guess but I'm putting TurboDog on mine!

Excellent price - the screen and surround is replaced/brand new, only the back might have some cosmetic damage.

GF has been looking for just this sort of thing for her dad.

Thank you OP.

Bought two of these from the same site last week for £55 each inc delivery?!?!
#15
Can this be upgraded to the lane assist software?
#16
These toms toms hard if you have too many roads in one direction you can't tell going left or right but straight on instead. Also No Right Turn are useless!.
#17
I bought the Navman S50 3D from Morrisons when it was on offer for £70.

It has a 4.3" widescreen and can be hacked to run loads of WinCE apps and other nav software. I have TomTom, Igo 8 and Igo Amigo on mine.

Does any one know where to find a customer services telephone number as I can't see on on the site.

Thanks in advance.

what is the warranty on these refurb units?

So I take it from previous posts that this doesn't have good software? Which software should I put on it please? And is it fairly straightforward to do?

Thanks in advance

Software is FINE just a few techies on here at the mo

Superb post!! Many thanks - just ordered - this is a great price.
BumbleGee - the software is fine - there are newer versions available but if you want this for the main purpose of a satnav i.e. getting from A to B then it wille asily do the job.
I have been using my father in laws occasionally for the last 2 years and it has been spot on each time.

edit - H & R added as well!

Does the software come on a sd card?

Are we able to update/upgrade the stuff, i.e. camera positions, maps for Europe, etc?

The UK model has 512mb of memory according to the technical specs, it does not list a SD card slot.

You can update the software, maps, points of interest, safety cameras etc...... You just connect it to your Pc via a USB cable, run the TomTom software and it will update. Software updates are free, maps you pay for but this states it comes with the latest maps. If you want to buy other maps you can. You'd have to copy them back and forth from the PC as it has limited memory but for the price this is a great deal imo.

You use the TomTom software that comes with it, thats all it runs. Its not a blank machine like say a PC where you can choice what version of Windows or Linux to install. When you connect it to the internet using the software provided it will update to the latest software, gps positioning fix and map share updates. Yes its all straight forward really.

I got this from tescos the other day for £88 which I thought was good!

You have about about 300mb of memory free once you've done the updates. That enough to fit a few more countries on although you may struggle with the bigger ones. If you want to fit europe go for something else.

I should add this works without any major glitches. I found the safety cameras useless as its gets confused with other roads, e.g. if you have a road crossing a motorway and theres a camera on that road it'll flash 50mph limit even though its 70 and on a motorway. Just gets a bit confused! Otherwise it'll happily get you from A to B without bother, just with a few less features then the newer models (no hands free calling, music etc).

Cheers mate. I think I will go for it. Ahh! What is the warranty on this? I can't find any info on the tomtom site :-(.

I have a Navigo (dog) that I bought from WHSmiths for £44 but it just falls over from time to time (hardware fault I think). Her indoors had a really bad journey just this morning where the bluddy thing just switched off 3 times.

What's the differences between v3 and v5 ?

Thanks

V5 has the latest maps, IQ Route's, Lane Assist and a few other different features that the V3 doesn't have. If you want a reliable sat nav that gets you from A to B, then any TomTom should be fine :-D
