brought this in the Cardiff Newport road store. When I asked why it was so cheap they said that it was clearance because the V4 has been rebrand and the 'TOMTOM One Classic' and the classic was £119.99.

Yep, there is now a newer version with lane assist and IQ. This would still be excellent though but the newer features are worth considering especially as there are a few deals around and cashback making it only around £20-30 more. I've had sat navs for about 8 years plus. I used to run 'em on a Psion and then PDA, for me, Tom Tom are the way to go. I think they have it just about right. If you want to make this useful try and get hold of the 'old'style traffic receiver which has sold in some Currys stores for £4.97 (retail more like 40 quid when it came out). It fits in the round socket and so long as you update the firmware and maps you get pretty current information on the route ahead.

I have got a receipt but on scanner to scan it with. Sorry.

I know that there were a few other stores in South Wales that had them at this price.

I phoned my local branch where I used to work and this doesnt seem to be correct the V4 is still there at 119.99. could it be the old V3? i would like one at this price but cant seem to get one...

Generally speaking, is it possible to put the v4 software on the old v2 unit?
#15
Also TomTom Go 530 is £74.97, much more worth the money if the store has stock! Its also the traffic edition, i bought this last week.

The picture shown is not the V4... I bought the V4 from Currys not too long back and it came in a different box. Would be interested to see if they are doing this deal as I picked my up at one of the new stores "launch day deals" for £79.99, so £69 ish would be great.

By software I take it you mean map?

Yes it can be done but it's a bit more complicated than just copying it over.

Cheers.

I promise you it is the V4. The orginial V4 comes in this box and the classic (rebranded V4) comes in a different box.
