The Start is like W7 Starter. Lots of functions from the One are missing. Better to spend a few £ more and get the One, imo.

Is this anygood for the price? As i need a new sat-nav

Great price and a great find, thank you op :) Hunted and hunted for a free delivery code but to no avail :( Still ordered it though, hubby been on about one of these for AGES!

I read the 'start' has limited menu options, hence why it's cheaper.

Does anyone know if this can be upgraded to the same software the better and more expensive units run?

No, can;t be upgraded.

Any point in me upgrading from a One V2 (last map update about a year ago)?

Be warned these are very basic. I went from using a one IQ routes to the starter and its a massive step back. If you're just using if for basic directions and occasional use then its a good price but from experience I would advise paying £30-£40 more and get improved functions.
