App 8.083, OS: 343369, 32 MB RAM, GPS v1.21, Boot 5.5136, Map Western and Central Europe 2GB, v835.2420
You also get a free map update which I selected Europe West and put on the latest map version v855.2931

It's black and looks pretty cool, no silver colours to reflect the light.

Register on the site and a £10 voucher code will be sent to you by email about 20 minutes after you have registered. This can be used for the purchase and brings the cost down to £79.99.

Then go through Quidco for an extra 8% this gives £6.12 cash back bringing the price down from 79.99 to £73.87 delivered. A bargain me thinks.

Just purchased, voucher for £10 took 10 minutes to come through this was in a 2nd e-mail after registration.
Also 8% Quidco

Sticking my TomTom V3 One on E-bay, so should be cheaper than buying new maps ;)
#2

Looks like it might have Western Europe maps, despite only having 1GB of memory, but page isn't 100% clear:

#11
was looking for sat nav last few weeks, have just ordered one, thanks to the OP
#12
Whats the difference between the black edition and the (apparently newer) Europe V2? Difference is only a tenner before quidco / voucher!
#13
Any special link for the £10 voucher on sign up? I've registered but nothing come through yet.
#14
Code arrived. Input and took price down to £79.99, ordered. Got order confirmation saying £89.99, will be highly interested to see what comes off on my statement.
#15
Brilliant deal, many thanks.

Got the code in about 10 mins (on the 2nd mail from them) and it deducted on the shopping basket screen.

Needed a 2nd one for the wife, this will be ideal.
#16
Nicely done. Tom Tom XL for my motorbike. Handy!
#17
Quidco tracking confirmation received too ;)
#18
What condition do these units usually arrive in? Out of all the units available which ones are worth buying?
#19
I bought a refurb'ed GO 720 a few years back from Total PDA for around 99.99 and it was in mint condition, you wouldn't know it was refurb'd. Still going strong and could be upgraded to take the later 8.x maps including lane guidance and IQ routes.

I have an older go 910 which has Western and Central Europe maps, as well as North America, guam and canary islands. Does anyone know if i can update the maps since they are a few years old, how i would do this and how much it will cost (For UK or all). Thanks in advance. This deal is hot btw, would have went for it if it also had N American maps and a b igger HDD (mine has 20gig i think)
#21
You should be able to get a price for updating if you connect it to your PC and open TomTom HOME.
banned#22
Thank you, have never connected it to the pc before, will order a usb cable (lost original) and download the program.
#23
Might be worth just buying the new unit then ;)

The old ones had large HDD's in which was a bonus, trade off in terms of size and overall speed of operation compared even with the x20 series. I suppose it depends if you use the US maps regularly etc, many users are obsessed with owning the maps yet have never even driven abroad! :)

http://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/products/tomtom-outlet-store/XL-IQ-Routes-Europe-Refurbished/Does anyone think the refurbished "XL IQ Routes™ edition Europe Refurbished" is a great buy? (£114.99 before voucher and quidco) as I want a real europe version.

What do you mean by a 'real Europe' version? According to the site this has all of the Western Europe maps.

I've just received mine. It looks brand new and was also boxed like new. It has come with all the Western Europe maps included.
#26
Is it possible to somehow hack the IQ routes onto this without having to pay the bloated price for IQ routes?
#27
the go 530 seems like a good deal with the discount dont it?
#28
I don't think IQ routing is that important, makes no discernable difference to me. I thought you would get it when you update the Op System on the TomTom, it wasn't standard on my 720 but I now have it when using the latest version of the TomTom application which is offered by TomTom HOME.

The advanced lane guidance is the most useful, especially on the continent. My wife likes it when she travels to new places as she seems to struggle with roudabouts.

I will happily update mine and post the instructions when I receive mine in the next few days. Or check on the PocketGPSworld website where you'll find instructions. PM me if you are interested in any help.

Not great IMO.

On TotalPDA you can get the 550 Live with a free years service to HD traffic etc, this costs £142.99, I'd pay the extra.

If you want cheap, then the OP deal on this thread is better IMO.

£142 is almost double the cost of this. Depending on your usage of the product. (most people travel the same route every day so only need them on special journeys) , this represents good value.
In addition I just checked the internal memeory from my PC and this one comes with 2GB not the 1GB specified on the tomtom site.

Thanks for the replies, still don't know which one to go for but these seem like very good deals especially with the £10 voucher and quidco

The GO 530 is £129.99 (119.99 with the discount), he was not asking about the XL Black edition which is an excellent deal with the voucher and Quidco, I am waiting for mine to be delivered. A result that it has 2Gb rather than the 1Gb stated.

When you get the latest version of maps using TomTom Home the central european ones no longer fit on as the maps have got more detailed and take up more room. So back up you maps before you load the new ones then at least you'll be able to travel to central europe with the old ones.

Thanks will do that.

I see it has partial maps for eastern europe and russia as well but could be a bit sketchy to go round those parts without full coverage, wouldn't want things to go Hostel-esque if I got lost.

From what I gather, IQ route and advanced lane guidance are map based and depending on what tomtom you have, you may not be able to load it.

Can someone confirm if the Black edition XL cannot be upgraded to have IQ Route and ALG even with say a bigger SD card?

The reason I'm so confused with these two functions is that I have an old old TomTom GO 510/710 and after a few software upgrades, I now get both functions with a newer maps.

Can someone in the know clarify for me?

Thanks!
