Game Description

Tony Hawk's skateboarding games usually need no introduction - up to version eight of the much loved series as we are. Previous versions have edged the series forward determinedly, but undramatically, with the addition of new features. But THP8 blows the doors off with an all-new game engine re-built from the ground up. The result is an improved physics engine - and a game that simply feels better then all the previous versions.

To go with the new game engine there's new (but familiar) scenery (as you might expect) and an updated gameplay mechanic, designed to make the game more free-flowing, while maintaining the challenge for new players and seasoned shredders alike. The result is simply the best Tony Hawk game yet! And that's saying something - because each previous version has been a smash hit.

The 360 version of Tony Hawk adds incredible next generation graphics to the mix, making it by far the best looking game in the series to date.Another next-gen bonus, available only on the 360 version until the PS3 makes its belated debut is the huge seamless level. A first for the next gen version, this feature manes you don't have to endure loading screens, or skating down a tunnel to get from one section of the level to another. THe game is layed out in one great terrain wonderland, and you can skate from any section of it to any other as you like.

In addition to the general makeover - THP8 has a new spot challenge system that enables you to open up new sections of the game world as you progress through the game. These challenges are available throughout the game and can be played at any time, and in any order, you choose. Each challenge has three skill levels, so you can come back and try them again as you develop mad skillz.

When not taking challenges, you can session the largest and best gameworld in any Tony Hawk game yet. And when you're airborne, you can enjoy two new modes: Focus mode and Nail the Trick. Focus mode just slows down the action to let you hit your landing just right - a sort of skating bullet time. But nail the trick mode put the board at the control of your hands in almost exactly the same way that a real skater has control with his feet. Each hand acts inidvidually on the front and rear of the board, enabling you to create unique signature tricks never seen or tried before.

Use your skills to become one of the worlds top skaters - and if you make it into the top eight - that's your project, the one the games title refers to - you make it inot Tony's new skate team. And using Xbox live's scores table, you can try and make it onot thre the actual top eight in the world.

Ouch. If it's an ebay business seller they might have a 7 day return policy perhaps?

Great price! Can't even get it for less than this on ebay.

edit: as it seems someone else just found out :(

Damn, now i'm considering it...
But i've already got it on PSP! Must...be...strong...

http://quidco.com/gamestation/ should give £1.05 cashback effectively covering postage if ordered online. Usually takes a couple of days though so may be better to pick up instore.

Great game, well worth the money.

Just been shopping and picked it up from Gamestation, my local shop still had the game price at £29.99 on the shelf and I asked them to scan the game and it came up at £19.99 plus I had a £2 voucher from being on their mailing list so ended paying £18

ust as a heads up, it might be a better option to just pick it up instore. AFAIK, GS online is atrocious.

Dan do you ever have anything useful to add to topics? It always seems to be an offhand comment with no reasoning that you post. The price for the item is far lower than elsewhere by a third, and the game has had rave reviews. Can't really see your problem tbh? If you don't like the item fine but no need to mention that unless it's a quality thing or a price thing. If you can find it cheaper by all means say so, I'd even vote cold myself.

Not really into skateboarding games but could not argue for £18 and can always put it on ebay if I get bored and sell it for hopefully near what I paid for it

Sorry Sean...I was gonna do a 'Best of Dandoc2' with all the glowing praise & congratulations he's heaped of everyone else just to prove you wrong but got bored looking for anything constructive after the first 5 pages.....

Seems like a decent price to me (& NFS's option seems sensible), but hey, I'm hardly known for my sane opinions!!!
