This is a new trading card collection.

My son loves this so I have purchased a bundle of issue 1 just for the packs of trading cards which I can give to my son at intervals.

My son wants this too and got the first issue. He said he wants a full set which will cost near to £1000 what with all the dupes which is a bit steep for a set of top trumps!

I would expect the magazine to limit which cards are in the packs dealt with the issue to prevent this, I hope your son doesn't end up with a load of swapsies!

I have to say I'm ashamed of top gear for all this marketing, trading cards,iPhone apps, DVD, 'spot the stig' books, completely sold out, even the show itself. Yes, we all knew some of it was staged, but now it's like a pantomime watching their program, everything is scripted.

It is the same things with the Go Gos Crazy Bones magazine. My kids have been in to these for a while before the magazine came out, but it woukd cost a huge amount for them to get the full set.

These things really are a rip off nowadays

...and how much would they be worth when they go out of fashion ? I used to collect mini-boglins and 'monster-in-my-pocket' when I was younger. They were worthless after around 6 months.

Still, the 2 for 1 price seems reasonable if you just want to sample the set.

Yep, my Star Wars figures and my wife's Beanie Babaies bear testament to that. They are still in the loft, going nowhere:roll:

My son loves Top Gear so I bought him the first issue and have also subscribed to the magazine because you get extra free stuff with every delivery you get. Having said that, it is pretty ridiculous the price you have to pay for the trading cards, not to mention the doubles that will inevitably happen
