Nice price. Heated, but I think I'll hold out on it for the moment. I've bought waay too much this month already :D

Despite Virtua Tennis 4 releasing soon, it's safe to say that Top Spin 4 will be a difficult game to beat.

I agree only when it is Offline. Playing this game online is a pain, everybody is playing with the same annoying builds (high power, groundstrokes & serve stats). I can't win any games against players like this. This is really really low percentage play in real life (which it tries to simulate).

Compounding this is that TP3 underestimates the real reactions/speed of sportspeople playing tennis, making it annoying being 'wrong-footed' on a ball that's only 2 feet away from you within the game drives me nuts.

Well it's a good thing they downgraded the serve in the recent update and well to be fair I think it's a lot better online when playing an aggressive player than in Top Spin 3, I mean I actually personally think being a defensive baseliner is the way to go in Top Spin 4. :)

Well yeah that's true, but I mean it's not anything that major so... Everything else is pretty much as perfect as can be so I can't really complain.

Best tennis game yet.... but VT4 is around the corner.

Play this until then, because that's shaping up to be good! (with Kinect support as well)

Play against Murray and Nadal on Expert difficulty and I guarantee you it won't be easy, even on very hard some players are beasts.

Hey, I'm a tennis fan too, just wondering if there were any particular reason you had Tomas Berdych?

Because he's an up and coming superstar? (Hopefully)

Great price, game has only been out less than two weeks hasn't it?

Shouldn't really buy it as my 'to play' list is ever-expanding but it's a great price.

Nice :) And well he's been my favourite player for ages now, first followed him in 2003 when he was playing challengers and well since then he's been my favourite player and well what a roller-coaster ride it's been with him. Met the dude a few times and he's been amazing as well :)

Maybe it's too late for that, but if he starts playing his best more consistently he'll stay in the top 10 for the next few years and I suppose that's good enough for me, although of course having him reached the Wimbledon Final I still dream he could go one better but I doubt he'll ever have the mentality to do that.

It'll be 4 weeks tomorrow mate, so still fairly new. :D

And on that note I'm off to watch Berdych lose to Ljubicic :p

demo wasnt great. but then VT2009 was dreadful. might just stick with VT3. not a great tennis sim but a great party game non the less.

Also nobody has mentioned the dreadful roster on this, no where near enough top class tennis players on this. they should do what fight night have done and allow the community to create and share players. also the fact you still cant put your own face in is dissapointing, i dont want to have to play a whole career with a created guy i have spent 20mins on that looks nothing like me

4 weeks? Christ, time flies.

I haven't seen much of him other than during Wimbledon last year but I hope he does well. Reminds me of Del Potro in stature alone.

This is very interesting, you should definetely tell 2K sports these annoyances you are experiencing and they will solve these in their next game. Go to their website and find their contact details, they will listen. I've contacted studios in the past and they have acknowledged it.

Yeah.

Awful form since Wimbledon to be honest, loss to Federer in Toronto a month later seems to have hurt him a lot, a better start to this year but still needs to improve a lot if he is to defend his RG and Wimbledon points.

2K have tried their best by downgrading the serve quite a bit to make it more fair as well downgrading some playstyles in an update, but yeah these things really need to be sorted for good in the next Top Spin, will contact them sometime with how they can improve it for sure.

ahh ok thanks I will check out the online gameplay - I haven't played for a while. I gave up playing the World Tour, frustrating since I needed only 2 trophies for the Platinum (winning a grand slam & 20 matches for male and female players)

When your wife get good at Top Spin 4 take her to a tennis court and play outside. She's love that.

That's cool :) My fav was Agassi until he retired and after him it was Davydenko. Not quite sure what's happening with him at the moment. I've also met a few tennis players, it's hard not too since I'm at the Nottingham Tennis almost every day playing tennis and gyming!

Haha I can see why Davydenko took over Agassi, but yeah Davydenko's form has been awful for quite a while now, still has a little bit of time to correct it though, and hopefully he does, lovely seeing a player take the ball so early now, of course Rafa will be hoping Davydenko doesn't find any form soon though. Woah that's cool dude :)

Yes you're right, I remember a couple of years ago when Davydenko was taking the ball so early that he wiped the floor with Rafa in some matches :)

Yeah man, Miami 2008 Final is probably the best example and those 2 matches in Shanghai and London weren't too bad either at the end of 2009. Best match against Rafa had to be last year's Doha Final though, how he came back to win that was stupidly crazy, this year's Doha SF wasn't bad either, by far the best match Davydenko has played in like the last 9 months.

I totally agree with all of the above, I really thought Davydenko was going to be at his best this year after playing so well in Doha but I was wrong lol.

Rafa vs. Ferrer is at 1pm today so be sure to watch that, I can see a twist in the match.
