You can top up and use the credit as normal without a bundle but you won't get double points :)

Yes you can (although only topped it up - not if you spend it on a "bundle". Even better when theyre offering £5 voucher instore for a £10 topup ;)

eta - you get charged for the text, so you wont be able to add £10 then use £10 for psn, start off with £5 or add multiples of £10.

The Q is how good are they as a network and who are they with? Do they allow tethering? Its all good giving us the extra free top up but the whole point is .. Does it work for you and is it worth it?????
#16
Of course a deal like this comes along after I've already signed my mum up to the network. :(

I notice that Tesco have upped their PAYG prices from 8p a minute to 25p calls. Wonder if Sainsburys and the other supermarkets are going to follow suit. Reel people in with special intro offers and then put up the prices.
I've enjoyed 3 months free calls on Sainsburys free sim deal and may top up £10 and get £5 off shopping and just wait and see. (Fortunately I have an unlocked phone but my dad has just bought a Tesco locked phone when the tariff was still 8p a minute).

By the way I've had no issues with Sainsburys vodaphone reception but have not used it for data only phone and text.

is this for 30 days or is it like payg where you don't have a limited time to use the credit because I don't use the phone a lot so looking for something where I can buy the credit and it will last me for about 3 months
#19
Anyone know if the instore offer is still on or has this replaced it?

£10 top up for £20 credit plus £5 of shopping seems good. Though thinking about it its £5 for a bundle which has been the offer for months. You get an extra £5 credit but goes much quicker than threes 321

Suppose its only good to get £95 psn + £5 shopping for £50

Are you sure you are not confusing this with payg lite which I believe is still 8p per minute. Their other payg rates give double credit but the rate per minute I think you will find is higher?

Many thanks Old Gold for clarifying that one!

Its on Vodafone Network, and no 4G. Sainsburys have deals on all the time.

I'm going to Three cheaper and 4G

I phoned customer services because I did my first top up on Sunday by £10 and got a £5 shopping voucher with it, not the double credit, I was told that there are leaflets in shops with a code number that you have to apply to get the double credit

In the light of this, where we do not have the code, the deal should be spammed surely? I cannot find reference to it on the normal site or in store.
#28
I think this deal is for new customers, ie. when you order a new sim. You have to top up within 30 days of receiving the sim. At least, that's my understanding.
#29
The double credit is now showing online when you want to order a new free sim, so as I understand it you order the free sim and then top up within 30 days and for just the first top up you get the double credit
#30
Has anyone had their double credit? If so how long did you have to wait before they applied it please
#31
could I have different people at same address? my wife and I both need this
thanks
#32
I sent off for a free sim and got it this morning, went into Sainsburys and topped up by £50 and got a free £5 voucher to spend in store and was told the free credit would be on my phone within 24 hours, so fingers crossed!
#33
2p incoming charges in Europe with double top ups for holidays, worldwide generally 7p max, so now 3.5p... happy holidays people with Sainsburys roaming ;)

Well my 24 hours came and went, I was told the free credit would have been added by then, I phoned customer services and I was told that it had been such a popular offer that it would be up to 7 days before the credit would be added and that if it still wasn't on after the 7 days then I should phone on the 8th day and they would manually add it.
#35
I just topped up £10 for the first time after getting my sim 6 days ago and activating it earlier today.......no bonus credit as advertised. My balance is just £10 not £20 as promised. Has anyone else had this experience. i fulfilled all the conditions listed......very disapointed :(
#36
Yes this has happened to me, see the post before yours, I topped up on a new sim last Wednesday and I still haven't had the bonus credit and have been told to phone on the 8th day if I haven't got it so that makes it on Thursday I need to phone
1 Like #37
Its the 8th day since I topped up and I have phoned customer services as the free credit was still not on and they have added it on manually, disappointed that it wasn't done automatically as it should have been but its sorted now!
#38
Not good really, they seem pretty desperate!!
#39
Same here, I topped up £50 and had to call them to get the free credit, but got it no problem.
#40
I topped up 50quid few days ago. Now i checked my balance via dialling *#1345#, 100quid on my card without adding manually.
