Ordered around 4-5 of these and they were perfect. Then had a bad batch of 4 a few months back. All 4 failed, looked like they werent making contact. They do seem to have resolved the build quality issues alot of us had, so this is a good price indeed. Personally, I'm sticking with the Edge DS though. Few dollars more but well ahead in build quality. HOT all the same.

I have bought 2 of these over the past 2 months and BOTH have failed - absolute cr*p and a total waste of money in my experience. Just ordered an R4 so fingers crossed.

Must have been a bad batch ......I've bought over 25 of these cards and so far only 1 didn't work.

DSTT is still top card if you ask me !

I got one 3 months ago for my little girls ds and never had a problem. Maybe it was a bad batch, but I suppose its enough to put people off if there has been a bad batch at anytime, what are these guys like for returns?
#6
I only bought one DSTT, mine works fine. Funnily enough, it was my first R4 that did not work so I needed a replacement for that. :D

DSTT is definitely slower than R4 was but if you don't mind waiting a few seconds more (literally seconds) then it's just as good as a card as the R4 I had was. With added SDHC

Dealextreme are good for returns. They sent me the wrong item once and so I sent it back to them, took a photo of the post office receipt (no, and I don't have a printer either) and they said they'd credit me with the amount. I picked out a 4 in 1 laser/stylus pen and asked if I could get that instead, and they sent it with the replacement. The pen cost slightly more than what I had paid for shipping, so I was satisfied.

ive purchased 12 of these in past 4 months for family/friends and have only had 1 that wouldnt work, contacted dealextreme who replaced it without hesitation very easily(had to pay to post back but they refunded the postage cost)

Should i get this or a Cyclods, which is double the price?

I wouldn't, only because I have a DSTT and it works fine for the price. I haven't tried the cyclods but I really doubt it merits that high a price.
The DSTT has drawbacks, mainly the fact that it doesn't show the roms alphabetically, it shows them as you added them to the card. This can be fixed by running a program called drivesort on the card after you add the roms, though. Also it refuses to load some roms if the SD card is too fragmented (which can be fixed with a format and re-copying the stuff to it). Sometimes just renaming the rom to lowercase and getting rid of spaces helps too, oddly.
Also, no idea how long this thing lasts - I've had it a few months now without any problems.

I got one for my little brother last month (one of the last they had in stock I believe) and it's the best purchase I've made all year.

It's just a pity he's an ungrateful swine.
#13
Thanks guys maybe ill go for this instead.
#14
I've had about 7 of these over the past few months and only one failed. DE repleaced it very quickly. Voted Hot
#15
Decent price that.

I just got R4 DS with 2gb micro SD card which does a similar job for £12.50 delivered off Amazon marketplace. I finally used my £2.50 hotukdeals treasure hunt voucher :)

Come on, its just a matter of highlighting them and then right click arrange by name, now how hard is that.

Be careful with the R4 as it has been known to brick some NDS's

The CycloDS is basically THE DADDY of Slot 1 cards, and is worth the money if you need all that functionality. Although, most people who get these cards (myself included), don't require all the bells and whistles that the CycloDS has.

With that in mind, I would always plump for the EDGEDS cards, they are a cheaper clone of the CycloDS, but so far have been 100% reliable for me (I converted to them after having a load of Supercard's fail on me with various errors). Software updates are also pretty regular for the Edge card as well.

In regards to TTDS card, I haven't personally used it, so can't comment on it, but I have seen enough peoples negative comments on the reliability to put me off.

You can't argue about the price though, it is a very good price.

Ive got 2 of these, no problem with either.

Nintendo are trying to get them banned, so if you want one, get it fast.

Yeah, I believe this is true of cloned cards that are loaded with V1.20 of the R4 software.

Be careful, as discussed in previous threads, many if not all of the £12 Amazon R4's are fakes and those that work will be bricked when you upgrade software (google b4 updating and you should be fine )

Stupid question time.

I have a NDS.What are these Cards for?

Yup, did all that, and read other user feedback on same product ... plus mate down the road had bought two from same guy a few weeks before ... went on word of mouth on that one as I was really holding out for a CycloDS hotdeal. :)

"Google is your friend". Depends which side of the fence you're on. For a select few, and many who doth protest too much, they are a way of playing mp3's video and homebrew games (never found any that are half decent yet!) on you NDS.

To the remaining 99.999% of people they are a way of playing "backed up" ROMS (or games) but of course this is only so that they can have their whole collection on one cartridge, they would NEVER contemplate downloading these games for free........ :whistling:

awesome little gadget, bought 1 for £12 a few months ago, which was without the memory card, so this price is great. Moonshine is a bit tricky to figure out though!

I have bought 2 DSTT from DX over the last couple of months and they have been fine. Also bought 2 SCDS1-SDHC ds carts, those are also brilliant, I would even suggest they are better for users who like to play around with advanced features (3OS's inc the DSTT one, RealTimeSave, RTCheats, RTGuide ect ect), otherwise the DSTT is tops for simplicity.

At the end of the day any modern ds flashcart is seriously brilliant value.

This is the japenese version?
Will this work same in Uk consoles and accept software or will games all be in japanese?
#32
I ordered one of these from Dealextreme in january, it took 3 months to arrive and when I opened it the box was empty. I contacted their customer support and they basically told me to get lost. They are based in China so there's nothing you can do about it.
Just get one from amazon.co.uk instead, the price is roughly the same and you've got some actual customer service if you need it.
#33
I am never going to buy one of these cards again. Absolute c*** ,rubbish build quality, never worked. Makes an R4 look like a Rolls Royce.

Had R4's and DSTT's.
DSTT seems a bit cheap and nasty compared to R4's.
Menu system is better on the R4
Game compatibility is better on the DSTT (at least on the firmware's i was using at the time)

Great. Needed one for my son's new DS (all other family members already had one). Very pleased with product. Voted Hot.

Note: price on site now $27.20 delivered which came through Paypal as £14.95.

Bought my M3DS Simply ages ago now, which I think uses the same technology as the R4? It plays everything I need it to and only very ocassionally doesn't boot up (I usually just take cartridge out and push it in again).

Have there been many advances in these that make buying a new one worthwhile?

had 4 acekards from dealextreme been very impressed with this card
