I'm waiting for Surface Book UK release

good luck, Neo-Gaf went into meltdown last night when they realised MS was hiding the true price of the one with a discrete GPU

FYI $1900 expect that to be £1500 here

Really? So exactly the same model? Can you supply link please?

Ive posted this as seems like a good deal, and am interested in comments before going ahead and purchasing......

Although the 1TB and 8GB Ram is good - I think it is a little overpriced for a laptop with a 2 year old processor - it is certainly a better price than the original £449.99 because it is a little dated now.

Thanks for that, as we're only looking for an everyday laptop (no gaming etc) do you think this is a good deal? And if we can get the 4gb for £80 less, would that matter?

Where is it £80 less?

Just for everyday use the 4GB should be fine (if the other specs are the same)

oops just seen your post that the £80 less is for refurbished.

Argos ebay frequently sell this one refurbished for £189.99, with i3 4th gen, 4GB, 1TB.

For a brand new i3, not FHD, 15.6 inch laptop, you can quite often find them here for £249.99.

The price on budget laptops have reduced a lot from last year to this year.

Yes Ive seen the refurbished ones are a lot lower, not sure I want to take the risk on something going wrong with them - we've just returned the Acer E15 one to tesco that was on here last week (brand new) because of issues so dont want to go down that road again! V frustrating! Ive looked for others with the same spec for around the £250 mark on here, to no avail.....

It really is!! Not sure about Lenovo as its a brand Ive not heard of?

Seriously? They are huge and they have been in the news this year for shipping malware and spyware on their computers!

Lenovo were already substantial when they purchased the rights to IBM's PCs including the Thinkpad series several years ago when IBM got out of the PC market. Since then they have developed a good, solid range of PC hardware. The hardware is good, but I wouldn't necessarily trust the security of the windows installation!

Early in the year it was discovered that they were shipping malware called Superfish on their laptops:

More recently they were discovered that they were shipping rootkit software that can't be removed:
http://thehackernews.com/2015/08/lenovo-rootkit-malware.html

And last month a piece of spyware was discovered:

Yes seriously - we hadn't heard of the brand! I guess we arent very 'techy' in our house, add to that the last time we bought a laptop was over 5 years ago so obviously not up to speed with things! Each to their own I guess. That aside your info above alarms me, so dont think we will be buying one.....
