Be prepared to be blinded by the blue LED, I am nervous every time I turn the HDD on in case we have a flight land thinking its part of the landing strip. I have to keep the HDD off as it is way annoying, and then takes an age to boot up and be recognised!!!

I've had a couple of the 500Gb version of this and agree the blue LED is eye watering and totally unnecessary I've also had both go really slow on various PCs - you connect it, the device is recognised but access can go r-e-a-l-l-y slow such clicking to access a file, the drive almost goes to sleep and maybe 30 seconds later starts up again. Both do it, both do it on any machine I've tried (about 8 PCs)

I even put in a different hard drive inside the case to see if that helped but it didn't making me think the USB to HD circuit design has a flaw, on my models at least.

sorry, it's cold and not recommended.
