imo, this is one of the best, if not THE best, 32" LCD currently on the market...and at this price, a bargain!

Would this TV be ok to hook up a laptop and watch movies / play games on? Im looking for something for the bedroom to hook up my laptop too as im sick of watching dvds on a 15" screen!
#4
but wouldn't this LG one be slightly better? as it has 1600:1 contrast. also it's only £369 + 11.50deliver - 3%QC - £5off HUKD voucher.

Good price. Toshiba make great TVs.

Voted hot.

i m surprise that this doesn't have PC input. but the LG one has.
#10
btw, this TV is better known as the 32WLT66...don't know why they omitted the T?

Just to offer some balance on this. I had one of these and ended up sending it back - despite its good reviews in the press.

I thought the picture was rather bland, and all the colours washed out - despite playing with the settings on almost every level. It also suffered the dreaded buzzing backlight problem - a problem consistent with these TV's. I also thought the black levels were quite poor. Tried a number of movies, on upscaling DVD player - and the picture was poor to say the least. If it was PC use you want it for - it doesnt do 1:1 mapping (LG do I believe?).

Aside from that, it is a good price for a high rated TV. But please do your research - there is LOADS on other forums about these tellys. I ignored the criticism, and got carried away with the hype unfortunately.
#12
because its not the wlt model. The wl model doesn't have freeview and misses something else as well.

Does this TV also work as a monitor for a desktop? I know the newer 32c3030d model does but i would like to know if this model does to?

"A 15-pin D-Sub connector permits PC connection" Looks like it can but no through DVI
#23
I just spoke to Currys CS and they had trouble finding the set on their system, which they seemed to think meant that it was probably not going to be in stock again :(

I don't think this the best 32", I personally think the Sony KDL-32S2010 is better.

The major problem and one I can't over look is the limited resolution of 1280 x 720 via VGA connect.

This is for the WLT model which has more features not the WL model.

I want to know if the cable that currently comes out my graphics card and goes into the monitor im currently looking at can actually just be plugged into this Toshiba tv, the cable has pins and the two twiddly bits that screw in either side.
#26
why is this expired
were there crossed lines or something
#27
still available.....
#28
I think someone seen the 'sold out' referring to the currys one and put this down as expired! Might need to be re-posted??

you are describing a VGA cable so if it has VGA input you are all set

Might do some looking in to this. The WLT66 was a very good set so it'd be interesting to see how it fares against the new LCDs that are on the market

If it still ranks up there then i might well be buying this instead of a WLT68 or RD2E
#35
if you was to connect a laptop to it through the vga how would you get the sound out of the tv??

You'd have to connect your sound card to the TV's stereo (red/white) inputs with a 3.5mm jack to 2 phono cable.

The reason I don't find it such an amazing deal is this. That Toshiba is a newer screen (but below the WLT68 that replaces the WLT66) but it has built in freeview and, in my opinion, looks far better than the rather bland WL66. If you have a sky/cable though, it immediately takes away one of those advantages.

I looked into TV's about a year ago for my brother - he ended up getting this model (or rather the T version) for about £600 from JL (5 yr warranty) on my recommendation. The '66' is (was) one of the best around for SD (standard def) pictures, IIRC, and as he mainly uses Sky+ it was the one to buy.

PoisonJam - looks a good price, but beware that Pixmania have notoriously poor after-sales customer service.

Noted. I've spent around £800 on electrical from them (camera, Logitech harmony remote etc) but I guess luckily I've never had to deal with their customer support!

There were a few others with similar prices on Froogle, just take your pick.

Erm, IIRC? What's that?
