I think this is pretty good deal for a Toshiba... appreciate it's only HD ready but at 32" I personally don't think the average person can tell the difference.

It's not as good a deal as the silly prices Morrisons are flogging off their sets for BUT it is readily available, a much better brand and a fairly good spec for a sub £300 32" TV.

Main specs are...

Television picture quality:
HD Ready.
Freeview digital tuner.
32in (81cm) widescreen TV with 81cm visible screen size.
Resolution 1366 x 768 pixels.
50Hz.
Brightness 450cd/m2.
Contrast ratio 4000:1 (native).
Response time 8ms.
Viewing angle 178/178 degrees.
Progressive scan.

Connectivity:
2 HDMI sockets.
1 SCART socket.
PC input socket.
Component video socket.
Composite.
Headphone socket.
AV socket (side and rear).
1 USB port.

Hope this helps someone.

Saw this the other day but was put off when I discovered that this model is supplied exclusively to Argos, which rang alarm bells for me as I thought that it might not be the same quality as a normal Toshiba. Might be completely wrong though and is still a fairly good deal for a 32" LCD.

I think most of us know that was a one off deal because they opened a new store... it's unlikely to be repeated and certainly isn't available today.

If you can find one and aren't bothered about quality I'd say Morrisons is better. However most of my locals have sold out of all of these TVs at present. Thus I posted this deal to help people looking for a cheap (but not necessarily 1080p) 32" TV

I agree this looks a good deal and if this was my main TV I think I'd go with yours. However for me personally as a spare set (in Kitchen/Bedroom) when thinking about what TV I wanted I realised I was unlikely to ever need more than two hdmi inputs (Sky + Blueray)... I don't think on a 32" you can tell difference between 720 and 1080p... and I woudln't use Freeview HD as I have Sky. I'd be spending £40 more for no gain.

However if it were my main TV I might be tempted to go with your deal to be fair.

Although this if full HD I think that buying a completely unknown brand without the possibility of viewing it first is a dangerous game. At least with Argos you can take it back after 16 days if picture is not upto spec...

[quote=sharkmark][quote=diwaliben]. At SHARKMARKFirst of all if you READ what I said in my post "If anyone is interested".Second the Silver Crest TV is a FULL HD 1080p LCD TV compared to just HD ready.Thirdly you can return the TV to LIDL if faultyFourthly Argos are "no angels" should you have to return any faulty goods as my friend and I have found to our cost. Just because you have found this deal you should not blindly disregard everything else.I am just giving an alternate choice "if anyone wants to take it".

I think you misunderstood my point. I was merely stating that you can return the Toshiba TV within 16 days without quibble to Argos (as long as you haven't destroyed the packaging) if you weren't happy with the picture quality (Nothing to do with being faulty). You also have a fighting chance at larger Argos stores of seeing the Toshiba TV on display working.

At Lidl these will be boxed and I'm not sure of their returns policy. I also suspect (although I might be being a brand snob here) that the Toshiba picture *might* be superior to the Silver Crest Brand. Whilst it's Full HD you really cannot tell the difference on a 32" screen. Therefore in my opinion the Argos deal is still better.

I'd encourage you to post the Lidl deal as a new deal if you think it would be popular?
