I'm really tempted but I'll probably be using if for a standard sigenal. Ideally I think I would like a 40" (I have an old 28" Toshiba widescreen just now) but can anyone tell me if this is worth it?

I bought the Toshiba 32C3031D from play.com the other day and the SD signal is superb, as is the HD signal. I would highly recommend them!
Also the one I bought isnt in piano black, so it doesnt distract you when you watch the TV. Apparently the C series is better than the AV series from what I've read.
Just my 2p! :)

Where did you read that the C series was better? Its 4000:1 dynamic contrast ration against 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and the model is over a year old wheras the AV is a relatively new model . I was considering one myself but decided against it due to the low contrast ratio. Pound for pound the AV is better VFM. Although the C is a verhy highly rated model by anyone who's tested one.

I wish I had the money right now to buy this :( Anyone wanna give me a loan of a few hundred quid? :-D

#15
WOW, looks good, went looking for a TV today....I'm so tempted...anyone able to tip me over the edge? How does this TV compare with the 37" offered a few days agp...
#16
was looking at this on dixons.co.uk last week at 399.99, and theyve put it up to 429.99 now, so this is indeed a very good deal, and its a really good spec for the money!
#17
Thanks for the post, great deal, i was looking at this bad boy on play.com (£429.99), so £50 saved potentially, thanks! Heat and Rep! Just in time for GTA IV!
#18
yeah, does anyone know what sort of HD it is? - Is it FULL HD and support 1080p?

Doesn't really say.
#19
It's 720 but 1080 would be a waste on a screen this size. 720 is all you need here.

Its not 1080p unfortunately.
#21
This model is not on Toshiba's website, anyone know the difference between the 32AV504DB and the 32AV505D model that is on Toshiba's website and Dixons sell?
#23
can this be used as a Laptop monitor? HDMI
#24
dazco, I don't think that samsung has a freeview tuner so its not as good.

I've been looking for a 32inch tv and was just wondering out of this and the Samsung le32r87/le32r88 which is better in terms of quality, as I don't mind spending a bit more, just want a nice tv for around £400ish.

So any comparisons to the r87 would be great.

Looks like a great deal though, voted hot

Got a Sony KDL32S3000 and it is excellent. All you would expect from Sony. Well built. Amazing picture. Excellent sound. 3 hdmi sockets. Paid £416 from Dixons using their price matching with www.electrosaver.co.uk. It is also available for £403 from www.teleworldplc.com but I prefered to stick with the Dixons deal. Highly recommend this set:-D

Ordered this today. Had my eye on these new range Toshiba's for a little while.

Thanks for the heads up!

Yep, it can do up to 1080i.

One of the reviews on Ebuyer says they printed the spec of a better TV.
It says there is fixed level audio out as well as optical out. But the connector image doesn't show them. Do they exist??
There's no sign of a VGA socket either, but it says PC input - odd.

The Sona glass tv stand is also on special offer from Ebuyer for £30inc (reduced from £80)

I paid £379.99 from play minus some quidco which I think is around £16.

Review is here for C series http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=64887

I think it is irrelavant whether the set is a year old or not, if it is a good TV, it is a good TV.

However, the digital tuner on my 32C3031D has just gone after 3 weeks so am having to get a replacement set. Not sure whether to go for the same set, or something else. The TV is fantastic though, just a shame the freeview tuner has died.

That is a later model from the one on sale at ebuyer - I could find no sign of the 32AV504D
#36
TV arrived today. Bit disappointed to be honest.

- no VGA input (Ebuyer have got that wrong)
- no swivel pedestal stand (Ebuyer have also got that wrong)
- TV stand is grey which jars with the colour of the TV
- picture quality for SD sources is poor
- DVDs look blocky and exhibiting colour banding (particularly "Blue Planet")
- noticeable motion blur
