Having just bought this TV for £333 I think this is a good price. Its giving me a good picture after adjusting it from the factory set maximums on brightness and backlight. The only dowside I have found is the lack of audio out to connect to a home theatre system. I have been told by toshiba to get a scart out to phono cable but havent been anywhere to get it yet, remains to be seen if it works.

Cracking price, I have 1 of the slightly older regza's and it hasn't let me down yet and the picture quality is spot on.

As has been mentioned, you need to have a fiddle with the factory settings.I always find avforums good and I'm pretty sure there are dedicated threads with users posting their settings so you have somewhere to start.

i was looking at the 1080p toshiba other week, not impressed at all,it was the 505 i looked at.
picture was poor compared to the samsung and LG sets, also as stated some tosh models lack connectivity,

Glad to see the prices are tumbling. would still opt for the sony deal posted last week but a good find nonetheless

What would you class as lacks connectivity? Only 1 HDMI?
#7
I think the total is £331.99. It says 311.99 + 20 which somes to 331.99

The deal is alright, but prices are coming low for lots of TVs now.

Not wroth a hot, but not worth a cold either. Looks nice though!

Well my regza, keeping in mind the model itself is over 2 years old, has 2 hdmi, 2 scart, and composite. Not sure on optical though as I don't use that side of things. I'm pretty sure this newer model would probably have the optical plus the other bits 2. I would imagine that most newer tv's have 2 HDMI as standard anyway.

Be aware that motion blur is hideous on this TV. Avoid if you watch alot of sports involving camera panning eg. football, rugby etc.

Don't agree with the motion blur at all,MOTD looks just fine. Look at AV Forums for the picture settings- http://www.avforums.com/forums/6850345-post4.html It totally transforms the picture quality.

Not sure what you mean about the motion blur.. I can't see any. Even on 360 games there is no lag at all.

A great TV have owned it for 3 months now I can't fault it at all apart from the poor remote control.
#13
I've had this TV for a while, cot me £400 when I got it and I think think that it was worth every penny. The remote is a bit unresponsive but other than that, I have no complaints with it.

o, i thought this was such a good deal, but reading the above i am not sure if i should hold out or spend more money on a tele for the old dears christmas present

think its a matter of opinion really mate also it depends on what your using the set for, i got the 505 and i think the pics fantastic, i thought the LG was poorer quality (but not poor) and the samsung was slightly better than the 505 (but to me didnt warrant the extra cash) saw them all on the same row in currys, stood there for about 20 mins comparing them, also the 505s 1080p, the others where not

great value for money, its a nice little set. great picture and the sound is one of the best on a LCD (onkyo speakers) cant get anything better for the price. i actually prefer this to the sony 32V that was on offer the other week. heat added :)

see mine is a 1080p LG,5010 model thats £499 at currys, the shocking thing was at my currys only the 900+sets was using hdmi, the lg was using analogue and the regza was using digi tv and the lg looked same.

im happy with mine and the pic quality is 1st class, but as said depends what u have hooked up,myself with a 1080p dvd, hdmi 360 and cable,it looks amazing no matter what i haveit on and crazy thing is i not even adjusted anything really, just using the presets lol

Hopefully, people give more credence to the views of people who actually have this TV than the views of some of the self-styled TV 'experts' on this forum who make bold statements about the TVs that appear on this forum without ever having owned one or seeing it in action. :whistling:

I'd like to think that people give more credence to the views of people who actually have this TV than the views of self-styled TV 'experts' on this forum who make bold statements about motion blur for practically every TV that appears on this forum ! :whistling:

Well said i totaly agree

also own this tv and think it is brilliant. you have to play around with the settings (like previously said look on av forums), and when playing ps3 its really good as well. never had any problems with motion blur with my set, think football looks superb on it.
#22
Sorry Demon Hunter, edited my original comment to make it more general at the same time as you were agreeing with it but I still stand by what I said.

ahh, well ya see i only paid 380 for my 505 and all the nearest competition where 720p sets so i really guess it depends on the price at the time too/and you sort of get what u pay for. at my currys all the sets where displaying a HD test video and it was easy to compare. my advice to anyone would be go look for yourself, advice on the net is great but with hdtvs its really best to go see for yourself as opinions vary quite a bit.Have to say my ps3 looks like a dog tho, most games are all pixelated (think that's just the ps3 tho, sony games eg GTP5 look great as does the ps3 o/s anything else looks like a commodore 64 :P ) my pc games look amazing and blurays from either source look amazing... happy viewing whatever your choice  :)

I have the 37" 505 one and I think it's brilliant. I also compared it with LG and Samsung in the store and I liked this TV's picture much better. Later, I ordered it from Amazon for £457 and had it for a couple of months and I haven't looked back.
#27
With regards picutre quality, I spent a while looking at TVs last year before buying a Panasonic Plasma. I did not like the pixelisation and bluring and washed out colors on the lcds.
#28
Just to update from my earlier post, I have bought the scart out to phono lead and it takes the sound to my home theatre perfectly, now I just need a twin scart adapter so I can connect the VCR too :)
#29
good price for a 32", some good comments, if connectivity is important, try this:

same site, higher spec, for £368.
