We have here our regular guest appearance at an even cheaper price (no quidco but optional 5 year warranty). The specs are on the link.

Don't forget, our 5-year guarantee on this TV is just £18.00. Be sure to check other's prices as some charge over £100 for similar cover!

Bargain LCD 32 inch TV's don't get any better than the Toshiba 32KV500!

With HD TV sources now widely available, there's never been a better time to switch to an HD TV. The Toshiba 32KV500 comes with a good quality 32 inch 720p screen. Fed with a HD source you'll find the Toshiba gives a level of detail and realism totally foreign to standard SD TV's. Thanks to 24p mode, this bargain Toshiba LCD TV will also show films at the exact frame rate the director intended, giving smooth motion and jolt-free viewing. With a contrast ratio of 30,000:1, the 32KV500 distinguishes well between dark blacks and bright contrasts. Taken as a whole, we don't think you'll find a better picture on a 32" TV around this price!

Although we'd always recommend using a TV with your hi-fi or home cinema system (for which the Toshiba has an output), the 32KV500 has stereo speakers and a built-in sound system that provides a sound powerful enough for most rooms.

Although only a budget TV, this bargain Toshiba comes with all the basic connections you'd expect. Twin HDMI sockets let you hook up two sources such as a TV HD set top box and Blu-ray player or games console. Another modern connection is the USB socket. This lets you view photos, listen to music or watch films from a USB equipped media player. For older sources, such as your VCR, there's also a SCART socket. If you fancy using this big TV as a computer monitor, then the PC input is ideal for making the Toshiba a dual use TV/monitor.

It might not be the slimmest of TV's but the Toshiba is finished in a smart and unobtrusive gloss black. It's also energy efficient meaning that it will probably be cheaper than your existing TV to run in the longer run.

Hi pigs_in_space,

I wanted to reply to your comment suggesting that our deal on the Toshiba 32KV500 is not a genuine deal.

Why would we possibly be advertising something that we don’t have available? This only antagonises customers, which is the last thing we would want. Having said that I do accept that deals can sell out quickly and unevenly across our 51 stores which is quite different and certainly regrettable. In fact at the time of writing this post we are still sitting on over 600 of these TV’s in the company !

If you, or any other forum member, has had problems getting hold of today’s deal, then please PM me and I will arrange to get one of these for you asap at the deal price.

Many thanks,

Thrilled. Just came back from Chiswick with the Tosh. If you join RS VIP club (via the website) they email you a voucher for £10 off any purchase over £100. So I got the Tosh with 5 year guarantee for £197.90.

NB guys at Chiswick are great, they reserved me one for collection tomorrow (although I collected it today), and they were all really nice (you could see the smile in their eyes, if you get my drift). They still had 6 in stock.

Picked mine up, perfect for my son to play his PS3 and 360(until PSN is back) in his bedroom.

As i've said in other threads previously, this is not a Toshiba, it's turkish vestel with a Toshiba badge, same as all the cheap supermarket no-namo TV's.

Still cheap though, but don't buy it on the premise it's a "Toshiba"

With the £10 off that makes it £189.99 then the warranty is £19.99 that makes it £210 so how are people getting it at £200??
Also DaleR, why do you say it's not a real Toshiba?
I can't get through to the Sheffield store :(

OK, but can you please explain how do you know that?
Also, I wonder if a retailer as large as this can get away with it?

Not a great picture. Son is happy with it though for his x box so that's all that matters to me but I wouldn't personally buy it myself for picture quality.

I wasn't sure where the £179.95 came from but assumed it was just cheaper when this deal was created. How are you getting £169? Thanks.

Hi the price has now dropped to £179.95 and if you join the VIP Club they email you a £10 voucher, hence £169.

really? you seriously expect a 32" full hd at this price? maybe you want a pony too, or the moon on a stick!

Cheaper than the CPW clearance sale Toshiba 32"

Just remember these TV's are not normal retail units that you will find in Currys etc. They are built to a price to be used for promo's such a phone deals so don't expect quality to be anything above average.

Those other RS TV deals look good too. Also, I don't really care which country it was made in, test should be to go to the shop, if you like the tv and it's picture for the price then buy it with the 5 year warranty and you are covered for reliability too.

Richer Sounds have always shown a very good attitude to customer service in my opinion, and on this occasion they are offering an OK tv at a very good price. If they say that they'll honour any interest from customers about this offer, then good for them....and us if we want it?

A few companies allow other manufacturers to make low end products using their name under licence do this... this TV is also sold as Sanyo, Alba, Vestel, JVC and some lesser known brands.

What i'm saying is, it may be cheap and may be an ok-ish TV, but you might be able to get it cheaper when it's sold under a lesser brand name.

Also for servicing, it won't go to Toshiba and Toshiba wont carry parts.

Next time someone here is looking at a TV in a supermaket, currys, comet etc. Have a look at the on screen menu, a lot of them use the typical "Vestel" menu and DVB module. Cheap and nasty.

I bought one of these yesterday. I had an email saying it was £179.99 but when I checked online it was £199.99. I rang the store and they said it was because I was a VIP member that I got the £179.99 price. I have never been offered a £10 voucher though. Why can't I have a £10 voucher :\
They had 7 available at the Plymouth branch.

Hi,

All the stock we have of the Toshiba 32KV500 is bought directly from Toshiba UK themselves and fully backed with a one year manufacturers guarantee, although obviously we can't determine for them where and from who they source the parts for their products!

Obviously we cater for a wide range of customers and so we offer lots of deals at various different price points with the Toshiba 32KV500 super value for money at £179.95.

Many Thanks
