Toshiba's flagship 37" LCD was £820 on a currys deal before Christmas. Even with the total rip off delivery of £50 £699.95 is a great deal for a superb LCD.

This is not the freeview version, so ideal for Sky+ or Myth users ;)

May be worthing adding one of these to improve sound, Seems to be the only downside to the TV.

Wow - they're definitely getting rid of all the stock of WLT66's... at this price, it's amazing. All you need now is quidco 3%, amex platinum 3% (if new), and a 10% off code. I think there's a 5% one around. The £711 must be including that, as it's showing as £749 on their site.

Perfect for Sky+ owners (Unless it's raining :whistling: )

Mint doesn't get close. Mine got delivered with slightly the wrong model remote, tosh sorted it next-day from my first email, I didn't even have to reply! I gave up on Currys and their lousy 0870 fscking numbers.

IMHO it doesn't need it for every day viewing or DVD's whils the Kids are in bed, it's got more than plenty of bass for "every day" use.

....Then againm if I want real chest-thumpin' bass I have a 1kw home cinema setup a flick of the remote away ;)

Yup - thats the only downside - you have to buy from currys. Am still waiting to have my TV picked up for a refund 3 weeks after reporting it to them. Got one from John Lewis in the end and currently 800 quid out of pocket until I get a refund.

say no to 0870 never works for them either. Keep saying "you need to dial 0870..." and refuse to put you through!

Would never spend more than 100 quid at currys. Ever. Even if I was saving 100. Got my 5 year warrentee and better service for an extra 150quid.

Watch out for Digital Directs £50 delivery.:-(

I had one of these sets and the make an awful buzzing sound when the backlight is set to anything less that 90%. Sent mine back as it drove me nuts, PQ was that good either tbh....
#22
Pq ? .
#23
Its a great price, but jethro is right, a friend of mine had to send his back due to the "buzzing" when back light is reduced. Theres much posted about the "buzzing" on the AV forums site. I have the 32" and its an amazing t.v, no buzz!!

depends on the source, it's an HDTV LCD, what are you expecting?
there's already links to reviews, just read them

I have the legendary buzz - but to be honest its not that bad now Ive got used to it and forgotton about it. Besides, PQ at backlight above 90 is great anyhow. Playing Wii on it is amazing! :)

some are worse than others to be fair - mine was particulary bad. Finally decided to take it back after seeing a mates Sony Bravia - made the Tosh look image look very average, though the deal price is very good - buzz or no buzz...

Got my 32 inch version delivered today and its great. Admittedly ive only had it on for a bit. Mine doesnt buzz either. Oh and I ordered from Dixons which is obviously part of Currys and everything went like clockwork. It arrived 3 days after ordering and I got a great deal online thanks to HUKD. Im a happy man!

well most people should have a good surround setup by now, if they going for hdtv ready tv and going to use it for xbox 360 or similar, but yes for general tv it might be worth upgradeing the sound.
#31
Where does the bass box thingy go, is it attatched to the rear of the TV ?

Some of the best softscaleing I've seen (I'm not a fan of the new LG software thouhg). Their are plenty of settings adjustment for sharpness Etc too.
#34
Empire Direct now have this one @ £719. May be worth doing a price match on one of their stores with John Lewis. Worth getting that extra 5 years guarantee for 20 quid more ;)
