Hi all,

I've looked closely at this TV

In store prices - best seems to be £679.99 at Empire direct http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/content/products/details/index~modelcode~TOS-37C3030DB.htm
Add delivery at £25 and £20 for the "free" 3 year warranty gives just shy of £725 delivered.

Cheapest instore price seems to be Empire Direct for £679.99

I've had confirmation from John Lewis that they will match the price and give a 5 year warranty for £679.99 but I would have to pay for delivery £60 unless I could pick it up.... so that would make it £679.99 with 5 year warranty in store....I feel a trip to John Lewis coming on (shame it'll take me 2 hours each way)

I'm about to order this one so if you all know of a better deal please post it

Hope this helps

hmmmm....

currys website only lets you do delivery to home and ordering today gives first delivery of next tuesday 10/04. final price with 5% code is £678.30.

that makes them cheaper than empiredirect since they don't charge for delivery however xomy (for another 8 quid) have it in stock and you can get it delivered next day.

checked on askdirect and they only have in store pick up. handy if you can get to tottenham court road in london but not so handy if you cant.

i've gone for xomy and it is tracking for delivery tomorrow. is a v.good panel albeit it isn't 1080p (but takes a 1080p source and scales it)

i'm torn between this and the 37wlt68

only technical diffs seem to be the 68 model has the 100mhz feature and one extra HDMI connection on the side. i was torn between em as well but saw this panel and the 68 running together in a currys store and (imho) there was no huge difference that warranted the extra outlay. saw bbc hd and a footy match

i've got three hd output devices (sky hd, ps3 and a sony media centre) but my existing 26" lcd will be going in my loft with the ps3 and i'll use the extra dosh to buy off the mrs with a posh dinner when the set arrives tomorrow :)

LOL you still looking too Jasonrat

I decided enough was enough and think this will be a great TV. REviews are generally positive and it's a good price for the spec.
I see little benefit in paying more. The only way you'll be disappointed with these TVs is if you put them all side by side...standing alone in your room it will look great.

You'll always get some people who aren't happy with a TV for some small reason.

I think the John Lewis warranty swings it for me rather than the rock bottom price and I'm willing to collect for that alone

Hope you find one soon:-D

Just on a flip note - i have been offered a price match by John Lewis on a LG 37" LCD TV (37LB1DB)..
John lewis have this on their website (and stores) for £899 and have agreed to price an Empire direct store (Chingford) for £724 delivered with a 5 year warranty..Thats a £175 saving..
TV has been ordered yesterday from the Watford branch.

I think i'll start a John Lewis price match thread on this forum..That way others can share their discounts..
