can you give some feedback?
is it a good TV?

I picked these up when they were £324 as well.

For the price, the picture seems nice enough (fed from Sky HD and PS3), however the sound quality is truly awful, even with all the tweaks available.

mmm, thought I did 'great tv for the price'.
EPG is a bit odd and can be difficult to read due to the way it displays names of programs currently on and the backlight buzzes a little (but then all back lights buzz to some extent). Picture quality is great on SD high bit rate channels like BBC1,2 ITV etc (I'm not talking about HD as my local transmitter doesn't do HD yet), the low bit rate channels (Dave and the likes) can be a bit blocky.
For £324 I'm not complaining.

Very pleased with my 32" version of this - I can't remember the sound being particularly bad, but I pretty much hooked it up to speakers straight away. DNLA is an interesting feature; mixed results getting it working (I'm not on Windows 7), but a nice idea !

what movie file types can it play via USB - does anyone know?

also how does it compare to samsung c530?

i bought this for 324.99 some weeks ago and i'm chuffed to bits. if you've got a sound system the slightly off sound quality doesn't matter, and the backlight buzz is nothing in comparison to the fans of my xbox! it's a wonderful picture from the freeview and the xbox (through component cable).

@pops1975. this tv will not play videos through a usb. you can play music, or view photos, but you will need a divx dvd player or an xbox/playstation etc to watch videos through it.

can't recommend highly enough. this is a very slick tv, and 349.99 is a VERY competitve price for a 37"

I bought one of these the other week for £329. The buzzing backlight was annoying me, so I sent it back for a replacement. The second one also buzzed, so I have now returned it for a refund. When I spoke to tech support at Toshiba they said it shouldn't be buzzing, so make of that what you will.

The TV has a great picture, sounds was good, but the buzz really annoyed the hell out of me. It can be removed by switching to 'standard' viewing mode, and pushing the backlight up into the 90s, but you still hear it when a dark image is displayed (e.g. accessing the XMB on PS3).

I would say go for it, and if the panel noise is too much for you to take, return it to Amazon (their customer service has been excellent throughout).

Looking for a tv, extra tenner for the samsung 40" or whatever it is would probably be better? An extra 3 inches for a tenner.

Freeview HD not here for a while and a box will probably be £50 before long anyway. So extra £40 for the 3 inches is worth it isn't it?

You can actually get this tv for £274.99 at Amazon if you trade in a crappy old laptop (you can claim £75 back), details here:

Amazon-Toshiba tv/laptop cashback

Claim form here: Toshiba Claim form

Very handy if you've got a laptop you no longer use lying around (it can't be more than 4 years of age though)

I am considering my first HD TV and this seems like a great candidate especially with the £100 cashback from an old laptop, cinema vouchers etc. But is it a great tv? Also looks like it has a headphone socket so I can connect my external speakers. But with the DNLA does that mean it can play my movies from my laptop? What formats? Anyone know

bought one for my mum, lovely set, shes is very happy with it indeed.

not too sure about the auto picture levels, have it on auto and picture looks dark..
easily overridden though

hmm, the buzzing is the only thing putting me off buying this

I'm tempted by this but not in any hurry to get a new TV before xmas. Am I likely to get a better deal in January?
