Also remember peeps, it's 3% back through Quidco and triple clubcard points until 1st April! For those who use the deals that works out to £71.88. Also at least one of the £5 off codes still works on Tesco Direct purchases :)
#6
It's out of stock there and that's probably an original price when it first came out. It's also 720p HD which is fine, although the contrast ratio seems a litle low.

Maybe someone could post a review of it :)
#7
is this a bargain or what??
#9
Thanks jasonrat :) That review was written in Feb 2006 and when at high price, so it does look a very good deal to me.
#10
It's one of the older Toshiba models of course, but it does have 2 HDMI slots and I think 2 of the 3 scart sockets are RGB enabled, which is still surprisingly rare these days. Seems a good set for the money.

You not get your TV from PC World......

And besides this Toshiba TV is a lot better spec than that one.

Can get it down to £539.34 delivered with Staff Discount card and £5 off code TDXR-DSJNNT. And thats without 5% Quidco and 1802 points

Shame Ive already got one:-(

We bought this TV 18 months ago - it was £1499!!! Great TV, not the very latest model but wow maybe we should have waited!
#17
This tv has been discontinued.

Fantastic price though.
#18
it shows on the deal of the day to be £699, but when you click on the link it comes up with £599, mistake perhaps?

http://direct.tesco.com/

look at the bottom right corner where it states £699!!!
#19
sorry i dont work for tescos
#20
Does anyone know if this come with the stand?
#21
It says via 'Features' Table Stand Included?: No.
#22
ive had this tv and it is a superb picture.really is a great set at a bargain price.
#23
May have been discontinued but still great TV with 720p/1080i plus 2xHDMI and 3 scarts, VGA input.
banned#24
Great set the only issue which concerns me is the contrast

contrast level of 800:1,

I was looking at this 32" samsung £531 it has a contrast ratio of 5000:1
although it has one less HDMI port. I think I will stick with it.
#25
Shame it has no table top stand, as the stand seems to be 100% normal with 37" TVs. Could this be an error on the website ???

#27

Hi Jasonrat

I've phoned PCWorld today about this TV and they dug to see if they had any. They are not in stock and the CS was nice but unaware that they keep appearing on the website. He said that they may be returns.

I've not had an email yet but he did say the order would be cancelled.

The TV in this thread may be the best 37 inch deal at the mo.

Goodluck

Same here jason... told em to poke it lol !

Anyway i have a friend who works for tesco and she said i can use her to get staff discount of 10%. How though would i get quidco on top of this coz theres nowhere on the website to enter any staff details ??

Also is this tv worth it... much better than the 37LG posted... im not bothered about latest spec just for ntl box and kids xbox, but im dubious coz its such an older model ?
#31
quidco only traced £12.77, on the amount £510.61 (presumably the ex vat amount). I make that 2.5% and not 3% return which is stated for Tesco.

Has anyone else had their Quidco tracked? and if so, how much?

Great set the only issue which concerns me is the contrast

Different manufacturers use different standards when they quote their contrast ratios so they should be taken with a pinch of salt. When reviewed using real standardised tests they're never quite so wildly different. Samsung love their 'crazy' figures anyway:)
#33
58 model???
#34
is it worth sending the extra 50 quid to get the philips model
#35
The 'no tabletop stand' on the Specs section must be an error. They can't sell a domestic TV without any kind of stand - what are you going to do, prop it up on the mantlepiece? I think they mean it doesn't come with one of those fancy glass-and-steel numbers.
#36
'temporarily out of stock' now

Nod
#37
too much umming and r-ring
#38
there seems to be a number of deals appearing on 37 inch models recently. It's what i'm after so please post if you find anything decent.

(stoopid pcworld and their discounted tvs:x )

Thanks

Long time listener, 1st time caller.

I've gone for this deal too, and Quidco has tracked the same as you scanner...swindled out of a fiver
