IDE, ATA, PATA, but these have been outdated for a few years.

A USB3 drive, basically a butchered drive with the USB built onto the board in place of the SATA circuitry.

Surely it would be a SATA HDD with a USB convertor/connector. They wouldnt go to lengths to replace the circuitry already onboard the HDD

Heres a better example, a USB disk side by side with a SATA.

Why-ever not? They've been doing for a year or so with USB2.0 already. Reduced component count, less to go wrong, cheaper to build...

Bit naughty... Although not a massive problem if you never want to remove it.

I was spitting feathers when I cracked open a My Passport. Work nice with the Wii for storing backups though lol.

I'm glad the Adata I got from Amazon had a removeable and usable 2.5" drive but I did only buy it when I found the drive can be used internally in a laptop too :D

Found a pic, look at this :

That is a WD drive. This deal is for a Toshiba. Toshiba manufactures its own hard drives. Version 3 of the Stor.e Art had a sata drive inside. The jury is still out on this one.

Well if someone buys it maybe they can confirm, but its about the same size as the WD so not a lot of room for an adapter internally.

Exactly so it could never be those could it doh !

you think a toshiba is going to invest in R & D make a IDE/ATA to USB 3 bridge when they are no mass produced 1TB 2.5 inch IDE/ATA hardrives available ?

I think you've missed the point. The internal drive will either be SATA (with a SATA-USB bridge) or USB (with no bridge.)

Now out of stock. Knew I should have grabbed one before I left for work :(

Well if anybody on here did get one and plans to take it apart, let us know the outcome. SATA drive are like bloody hens teeth at the moment :(
