There was a similar Toshiba 40" smart full HD 5 year warranty going for £189. Just no wifi. Might be worth check to see if they are still available.

This deal (the £189 you mention) is from Tesco and has been coming in and out of stock recently and can still be bought but you will need a lot of patience as you will need to constantly reload page until you spot them for sale. I am using the very same TV right now as my new 40" monitor and cannot fault it for the price (Vestel/Toshiba or whatever make). I have managed to bag another 2 tonight for friends but they have gone Oos again (for now anyway). Please note that there are only a VGA or HDMI connectors and no DVI connectors. Good luck !!!

For wi-fi somebody has spotted this for £9.99 which apparently works (can't see why not as it looks identical to the Toshiba one which costs at least double that) this one is listed for a JVC television but anybody in the know will tell you that Blaupunkt/JVC/Toshiba and other retro brands are no more and companies like Vestel licence out their name to be used as a badge of honour (what would you rather buy at the same price and spec. one badged Toshiba or one badged Vestel even though they rolled off the same production line ?)

The reviews are for the Tesco £189 (link above) and basically they are talking out of their 'A' Holes as it is a brilliant screen for the price (£189 FFS !) I am using it right now as my monitor whilst typing this up 1080P HD and Freeview HD. True it is not a patch on my 50" LG Smart HD 3D Plasma TV, 50" Samsung Series 5 HD Plasma or even my 39" Samsung HD LED TV but it is nowhere near the prices of these. £189 is half of what I paid for the 39" Samsung !!!

How long (refreshing constantly) did it take to bag one on average? I have been trying every hour or so for the past few weeks and can't seem to get one! :(

Does anyone know if this can be controlled with a smartphone app?

TV web browsing is virtually impossible using a standard tv remote.
