All these bestbuy deals would be great if the cashback is honoured, and it's slightly more at topcashback 20.2%

imo they shud be taken off the cashback sites list, all this cashback is getting them alot of business and they turn around and not pay out. Im unaware of one instance where they have paid out in full...well of course they wudnt because they're not obligated too. Such a loophole

So someone in HUKD... in the interest of it's members should you be removing ads where BESTBUY are offering a 20% cashback deal which no-one had yet confirmed they will receive? I think BESTBUY know how much business HUKD gives them, without this false 20% discount they are no cheaper than more reputable stores which I personally would much prefer to deal with.

I'll get off my soapbox now, but as a member of HUKD I think its members should sound out against BESTBUY!!

Cold from me, and sorry for the person who posted this deal.

maybe everyone should write to the cashback sites asking if any monies has at least been confirmed if not paid.
If they had enough emails/queries? who knows , strength in numbers etc?

The cashback is calculated pre VAT, so if you're lucky enough to have the cashback track, you'll still be paying over £290

Has anyone recieved their cashback from them, apparantly theres alot of claims being filed with topcashback and quidco about bestbuy but ive no first hand experience, just the negative hearsay is putting me off and that theyve gone from a fantastic brand to a bunch of numpties within a few months, pc world is better than them now. PC world aint better than nobody!
Such a shame. The real thing that gets to me is in the thurruck store ( my 'local') they have 'experts' about every single thing so they have to constantly rotate from department so anotgher person can tell me about stuff and all the while they're talking im jyst thinking, you dont have a ******* clue about what your talking about and these are experts, ha, jog on mate! One guy told me you could put a 16gb sdhc card in a samsung camera (which i already happen to own and know it supports a maximum of 8gb) they're misleading their consumers and its just plain wrong, ok that was one example.
Another one is i asked for the A team blu ray so these two girls went looking right round the blu ray section when i had even told them that i had looked and it wasnt there, they then checked the systems begrudingly after i told them to politely and returned saying we have none but lo and behold, right near the checkout there was atleast a dozen copies, so did they check? I dont think so. In the thurruck one, no one knows anything about anything and all they wanna do is get you to the back of the store so they can make commision on it.
They ill advise people and are rude, just so annoying cos i thort theyd be great. And now their cs is crap compared to how good they were around the time of the croydon opening store, its all gone downhill. Howevere i have heard the one in aintree and especially Derby, they seem very knowledgable so props to them for that but in Thurruck abso terrible. Another thing, when I enquired about my ps3 from them over the phone, they said they had no stock left. When I got there there was atleast 30 ps3's on the shelf, are they unable to look at a computer, search an item and identify the number next to it..based upon my experiences they absolutely not qualified for such difficult work :/. My advice would be if you want anything from best buy, get out and in in the least amount of time as possible.

Rant over :D

There's no indication yet to suggest that cashback won't be paid either. This is a brand new website and from a marketing perspective I imagine BestBuy have taken the view that cashback is a good way of getting it known compared to other form of advertising. At least by using cashback they generate sales as well as just interest.

My purchase tracked and was then declined. I argued, and was point blank refused despite doing everything correctly. BestBuy are a busted flush. Everyone knows that the cash back will track - but will eventually be declined. They do pay the odd one or two, just to keep the punters coming. CON ARTISTS!

I can't understand why this "loophole" is allowed to exist, I mean surely trading standards should ensure any promises upon which a transaction is made must be based on a commitment to deliver.

thats the beauty of cashback isnt it, retailers arnt obligated by it but most do payout to keep customers happy. 20% is a ginormous figure for cashback. Legally they are doing nothing wrong, but ethically they really are. I for one would support a total ban of bestbuy on cashback sites and they really should face punishment, infact trading standards should make an example out of them if it carries on like this in the next few months.

I never rely on Cashbacks

Just received the following from TopCashback in response to my query about BestBuy

"Thank you for your enquiry. We have no reason to believe that they will not honour their cashback offers, if we did have any concerns they would not be represented on our site. I hope this reassures you. Kind regards, Ginny"

I know 'they would say that wouldn't they' but Topcashback have always resolved any problems I've had before and I've been entirely happy with them.

what do you expect trading standards to do as they are doing nothing illegal?

I don't use cash back sites, so I would appreciate HDUK deals being posted based on their non-cashback price. I see the cash back as an extra bonus for those who do that kind of thing and would rather see deals judged on their 'normal price' merits. I have bought a tv through Best Buy - service was fine - but the fact that they promote themselves as offering cashback and then don't honour it suggests they are a dodgy company.

In the same way that I don't use Play.com anymore because their customer service is a nightmare, I will be looking at other retailers instead of Bestbuy in future.
